Author has written 6 stories for Inuyasha, Assassin's Creed, Jupiter Ascending, and Greek Mythology. Hi Everyone, 2005 or thereabouts: I still enjoy writing, but I haven't written a lot of stuff in recent years because my life took a huge turn in the years following 2005. And also, I stopped being hooked on "Inuyasha", but I still enjoy watching it because it is quite a well done anime. Well, I'm currently hooked on Assassin's Creed. And I decided that now might be a nice time to write a bit about it since I'll having some free time coming up in the next two months. Also I kinda like the whole altenate history-conspiracy theory genre. And also, it will be a nice way for me to utilise some of the knowledge I gained in the years between my "Inuyasha" craze and the events that led up to this moment. Its now 2015: I dun think I can finish my fanfics.. EVER... but enjoy reading them... continuing them or whatever... I decided that writing Fanfiction is really not for me. It is far far better to write ORIGINAL FICTION... which I what I am doing amongst other things. I do occasionally read cos i like to see some of my favourite fiction and characters live on after the book, movie, whatever is done. One of the reasons I don't do a lot of fanfic is cos I don't believe in dilution... ideas, concepts, no matter how unacceptable, need to be presented in their full and undiluted glory/goriness... otherwise they do not make sense.. For instance, "midichlorians"... I mean.. what a cop-out. Sure, if Lucas had made the Force a mystical, unexplainable and yet sentient power, it would be okay. I can accept that, and so can a lot of other people. Say that Anakin is the "chosen one" or wad by mystical decree... I can also accept that. What I really dislike is the vain attempt to "scientify" the whole Force idea by adding in some "science-y" BS that makes no sense. Writing good sci-fi that makes sense takes ACTUAL SCIENCE... so people can identify with the ideas. It needs to be explained better. It is bad science and bad occultism. I mean, when I write about sex, I do not dilute it. When I write about war, I do not dumb down concepts or make it more "palatable"... man, war is ugly, get with the program. Sex is explicit... so? It is just too damn bad if you are "sensitive" about this. Some people just need to realize the goriness or impact of a particular subject to actually learn from what the characters are experiencing. |
