Totally time for a profile rehaul, since it's been, like, three years. :p

Hello darlings! I'm Elske (well, that's my middle name and nom de net). I've been writing all my life (one of my earliest memories was composing a play on my gram's new electric typewriter) and been writing fanfic since...I was in college, I think? Although I do distinctly remember spending many years as a kid daydreaming Dragonriders stories, but I never wrote them down. ;) Harry Potter is my first fandom; I was also heavily into PotC, I write quite a bit for Degrassi, and my new love is Psych. I write scattered bits for other fandoms too: I think "Cinquanta" might be my favourite thing I've ever written.

I like slash. I'll admit that. I LOVE slash. Gaga might sing about being born this way, but I'm a third-generation-slasheuse (who learnt how to dance the timewarp from her grandmother and has been known to write slashfic for mothers day presents): so I can do you one better, baby: I was born this way and I was RAISED this way. :D

I'm always looking for good fic reccomendations. I like slash, angsty!het, genfic too. Things I have a weakness for include: [Harry Potter] gratuitiously!asexual Sirius, Frank Longbottom/Rabastan Lestrange, queer Longbottoms in general, and just about anything about Frank Longbottom period. (I think if I'm still known in that fandom at all, it would be as "that lady who thinks Neville's dad is gay. :p)

[Pirates...] Norrington/Gillette. Norrington/Gillette ALL THE WAY. I'm pretty sure I invented the ship, or either way I was one of the original crew members if you will. I kept an archive called "Rowboat of Slash" back when I was in college. Those were some of the best days of my life. After having spent 5 years working in a history museum and studying the 18th century hardcore, I don't know if I'll ever be able to write PotC fic again, but I will always love it.

[Degrassi] Toby/Rick = OTP. Forever. Any story that doesn't treat Rick as a Villain and Toby as a Sidekick. I love Paige/Alex. As far as the new kids go: LOVE unrequited Fiona/Holly J (even if it does hit a little close to home: I've been known to yell at my television "I am almost THIRTY I should not be identifiying so much with a teenage soap opera!"). Claire/Eli/Adam = OT3; I have a weakness for bi!Eli in general, and I suppose Eli/Adam would be good too, but only if it was clear that Eli appreciated him for the awesome dude that he is. ...I really want to find a good reason to write Toby/Eli, but haven't found the excuse yet. I also ADORE Darcy/Mr Simpson and probably will (and not just because I think Simpson is dead sexy, especially when he's dressed up all 80s glam in the second season, ahem.)

[Psych] ...so it's like my mum's fave show, and I was home recouperating from major surgery and basically doing nothing but watching Psych DVDs 24-7. As I explained to my sweetheart: "You can only watch so much of something before you start slashing it." What tipped me over the edge was the scene with the polygraph, where Lassy's asking Shawn about O'Hara, and I literally sat up on the couch and shouted "MY GOD HE IS SO IN LOVE WITH HIM", and my mom just rolled her eyes and bamf, a new obsession was born. Shassie all the way, baby. Shassie forever. (I also like Gus with Lauren Lassiter, beacuse my inner Shawn thinks they should get married and then he and Gus could be brothers for reals. And I think Juliet/Henry is a good couple too, shutupshutupshutup it works in my head and that's all that counts.)
