Author has written 7 stories for How to Train Your Dragon, and Stanley Parable. Oh, uh, hi there. I'm FizzleMcSchnizzle, but you can call me Fizz. I write HTTYD fanfics because I am a mature adult who does important things with his time. BAHAHAHAHAHAAAA! Nope, I couldn't keep a straight face either. Anyway, I accidentally wrote four stories that form a series. Well, it's not like writing them was an accident, but the series part sorta just congealed as I went along. Any story should read just fine without you having to read any prior (unlike Marvel movies), but they all contain my angle on dragons being intelligent and telepathic (but not in an OP sense). "Hookfang's Tale" is where the series technically starts, and though it may look like something I wrote in middle school (it's written in first person, present-tense), it's actually the 3rd story I wrote. Anyway, it's an adaptation that covers the first HTTYD movie, but it gives some love to some characters that saw very little screen time. I will say that I'm proud of having conjured a way to make it interesting while being told from the perspective of a character who spends most of the time locked in a dark stone cell. The story was also me exploring the idea of being a bit more silly and, uhh, loosey-goosey with the narration. Then, "Dragon Whisperer" shows some life on Berk after the first HTTYD movie, and it's actually my first work. I renovated it sometime later after writing it, and it still has some imperfections that make me cringe, and the chapters are a bit more long-winded than I like nowadays, but I'm happy with it considering the story started as me not knowing where I was going and just wanting to poke and prod at dragon telepathy. "Dragons 101" picks things up from there. It starts with a plot element I wish I developed more, looking in retrospect, but it also addresses what I think is a more mature take on the consequences of Berk having dragons to ride in an Archipelago with other Viking tribes as neighbors. "Lost and Found" is an adaptation of HTTYD 2 where I try to "fix" some things I didn't like in the movie or that I think it glazed over and didn't do justice. For example, Hiccup meeting Valka and saying, "Oh, you're my Mom who never came back even though you could have? What a happy day! Let's go flying and bonding and stuff!" So, will I do an adaptation of "Point of View", however, does have some elements from I got couple shorter stories. "Good Dragon" is a fun little non-sequitur one-shot. "The Toothless Parable" may pique your interest if you've ever played the game "The Stanley Parable" (I couldn't help but see some parallels). That's all my stuff. I keep my list of favorite stories short on purpose. There are a lot of stories that I read that I enjoy, but I try to add only those that add a unique element that strikes my fancy and isn't already in a story in my favorites. So, umm, yeah, that's all I got. Now get outta here and go read something. Or better yet, go run and bike and play outside. Whatever you do, don't forget to stare at a pile of dirt for at least 5 minutes once each week and play with the insects and worms that you see (except hornets and bees and stuff that would make you want to sue me for this advice). Remember, you're never too young to do something impressive, and you're never too old to do something silly. |
