Anyways take your time on writing more chapters, while I would love to read more whatever is happening in your life is more important. And you also didn’t leave us on a cliffhanger so that’s great. It was actually a pretty good spot to go on hiatus

Why would you set up an entire different stage only to then retell what happened in the movies? That's such a waste.
You had a cool idea but what followed was underwhelming. You put far more thought into creating Astrid as a character than Hiccup and it shows.

I absolutely love this story, I and it's a shame it hasn't been updated in soo long. I'd love to find myself reading more of this story.

I found your story recently and I am looking forward to reading more. Thank you for this well-thought-out book. I’m assuming at some point Hiccup will return to the Barbaric Archipelago, but I’m enjoying where the story is at right now. The reunion with Toothless is beautiful and the first few chapters much different from the other “Hiccup runs away” stories. It is grittier, but not unreasonably so—there are no sex scenes, no descriptions of torture, no battlefield gruesomeness. I appreciate that Hiccup’s ability to communicate with Toothless took effort, and Toothless expressed uncertainty that other humans can do the same. I like Hiccup being portrayed as a real teenage boy, with the struggles that entails. Knowing how hard he labored on his shelter and the real pride he took in his accomplishment is a tangible thing. I never considered he might have been weak and soft-skinned, but it is at least plausible, if not likely. Thank you for this beautiful story. Whiskerface

HI THIS IS ONE OF MY ABSOLUTE MOST FAVOURITE FANFICTIONS TO EVER EXIST! i absolutely adore the character development your war of writing is phenomenal and even within a chapter of getting to know the new dragons their deaths and the dragons destruction as well as the loss of his home brought me to tears, the loss of belongs over sea hurt and the last two chapters had me filled with tension to only relax once they were together again. THANKYOU so much for this masterpiece I cannot wait to read more!

PLEASE don't feel like you need to skip past ANYTHING during these important next few days in the story :D whether it be fixing Toothless's equipment, or adjusting to the city WITH Toothless, especially as Toothless adjusts and deals with what undoubtedly will be weird stares and encounters with meeting people, perhaps even talking with them via Hiccup translating for him. Just, TELL US EVERYTHING PLEASE :D I wanna read it all :D

WOOOOOOW! Bravo! I feel like I just ran a marathon. This is so so so beautiful and I feel like I just experiences an entirely different version of the story we all know and love. The level of effort you put into this is undeniable and you should be very very proud.

oooooh my god I'm dying. this is beautiful. Nothing gives me more anxiety than Toothless being seperated from Hiccup. It's like if I lost my dog. I would not be able to imagine the anxiety of not knowing where she is. To see them together again is making me sooooo happy. The last few chapters were making me super worried and honestly this is great. Hiccup might have to fight in some wars but like everyone does and it's such a great offer that he can live with Toothless. I kind of don't want him to go back to Burk though because visiting these lands you create has been far more interesting. Getting into fantasy politics and war sounds even more fun, especially seeing how dragons could affect conventional warefar tactics. And court drama is just plain fun. Also wouldn't they have to create a whole new section in the army just for him XD
