Author has written 4 stories for Inside Out, Five Nights at Freddy´s, Super Smash Brothers, and Moana. Welcome to my page everyone! I hope you will enjoy my stories, just as much as I love writing them! Some things to know about me. I am currently 18 years old and a college student looking to get a degree in Nursing. I just recently got my drivers license and I live with my father. As for my writing, that will take a while to explain. You see I have been reading fan fiction for a long time ( since I was 11 years old, actually). Before that I struggled with reading comprehension and bits of writing. I was once that girl that never saw the appeal in "reading" for fun. I mean we already got loads of homework every night, reading a book seemed like more schoolwork when I could have just watched TV. This mind set stayed with me for a long time, despite my parents best efforts to change that. I can safely say now that the reason was simple... I hated school library books. They were the same kinds of stories, year after year, all picked by the school board of my state. They always revolved around a kid, or a group of kids my age, dealing with real world problems similar or to my demographic. Some would be about overcoming a family problem or drugs, dealing with your crush, going on a road trip, trying to become "popular" but then realize by the end of the book they shouldn't care about such trivial things etc. Those kinds of books bore me to tears! I don't want to read about another kid's problems that hit too close to home (I mean bookception, much?). I get that some students like to relate to a main character or story arc, but some of those books they recommended us to read really did hammer in the lessons. I on the other hand, did not fancy reading those types of stories. I wanted likable characters in far away lands, societal rules different than are own, intense adventures at every turn, romance that got pretty heated, and more. Unfortunately, at my young age I thought the only place I could get that experience was through film, video games and television shows. The major advantage in my eyes was that I had all the visuals I needed to follow along to the story better than to make it up as I go when reading. The more I watched and enjoyed, the more the characters and stories resonated with me. And I also remember feeling dread when a show finished or went on a long hiatus. I craved more. I wanted more than what the show staff had to offer. More risks and more story ideas. I craved a fix of my favorite characters and I did what I had to do. I turned to the internet! At first all I did was look at fan art and mini comics. Soon, even that wasn't enough which was around the time i gave fan fiction a chance. I was hesitant of reading fics at first, from hearing all the rumors and horror stories surrounding that form of literature. Yet once I gave it a try, I never once looked back. Reading fan fiction has changed my life for the better. I recall back in 9th grade our English teacher was telling us our FCAT scores ( Top Standardized test in Florida back in the day) and how we compared to the previous year in 8th. Since I was the closest to her desk, when she called the students I could hear her saying to each of them that they either increased or decreased between 5 to 8 points from middle to high school. When It was my turn, she told me I improved... wait for it... 24 points! she said I had the largest improvement in the class, and all her classes as a matter of fact. I was speechless. And here I thought I did worse, when in reality I succeeded. I can thank that large improvement to fan fiction. That was probably the only thing I did differently than everyone else. I read fan fiction so much up to that point, that I read more a day than watch TV or go on YouTube. And now after years and years, of reading other peoples fics, its about time others got to read my own. It may take me a while in my busy life to do so but I will make sure to give back to fan fiction and it's readers, as what it did for me and still does to this day. |
