Author has written 3 stories for Harry Potter. If you want to ask questions or discuss, feel free to leave a comment at: May 30, 2006 Hi guys, long time no see! I've decided to abandon this account for once and for all, because let's face it; I'm not going to finish these stories. I feel my writing has matured, and revising and updating all these stories is proving to be too much work--especially once I started high school. I started using fanfiction.net when I was twelve. Today is my sixteenth birthday; I suppose you could call this an eulogy ;D, but I just wanted to say good bye to those who were so kind when I first started out, and to those who have stuck with me. Esp. Blade-Claven--he's a good guy. Feel free to skim the rest of my profile, but it's just an "update" of what's happening with my stories (which are all now termed as "abandoned") I'm going to start a new account, so one day you might stumble across a story of mine! Cheerio, and Harry Potter rocks my socks. - Favorite Ships (in order): Hermione/Snape: I used to be a huge fan of this ship, but right now I’m experiencing an upheaval of my feelings in light of HBP. The wounds run deep :sigh: Nevertheless, I admired Snape’s shrewdness in his role as a double agent, and he is a dominating and imposing male figure, which is a huge turn-on (i.e. tall, dark, and mysterious). He is also very intelligent—one would have to be in his position—and I just like the idea of him falling in love because Snape is very controlled and for him to love, it would be a very hard love to achieve, which makes for a great epic story, and it would be true love :sighs happily: clichéd, I know. Also, I just like romance stories with distinctive age differences (i.e. Hermione is 18, Snape is 38) :) Hermione has strong parallels to me in canon although not so much in fanon—authors easily mess up this pairing by making Snape and Hermione, who are two very complex characters to construct a believable relationship around, OOC. If the characters start getting really OOC, I just stop reading the story because it’s too painful to watch the author blunder with the intricately developed/ing SSHG interaction necessary to a believable SSHG ship. Remus Lupin/Tonks: They are just so cute together! Again, Remus has the age difference and the Dark! mystique (werewolf) while still being gentle and book-ish. By the way, Remus looks much hotter in the books’ drawing than the movies (see last chapter, OOtP). Tonks…is a girl. I’m not sure how to describe it; there are definitely some types of girl-personalities I hate to read about but Tonks, Hermione, and Ginny are all cool. Although I like this ship in canon, I loathe reading any ship except for SSHG in fanon. ;) Draco/Ginny: Ah, the ship of my childhood…oh, erm—:cough: the ship of my pre-teen hood I meant. Draco/Ginny foreshadowed my appreciation for the good ship, SSHG, only in a slightly younger context since Draco and Ginny shipping usually means more immature, underdeveloped characters. This is said keeping in mind that the shippers are, more often than not, younger with less writing experience. As you’ve probably guessed by now, I’m into the slightly-redeemed-Dark!guy with the…girl. And Tom Felton helps out a lot too...;) Chain Reaction: This story is the project I am devoting the majority of my attention to until it is revised and completely finished since it is the most popular and has been left to decompose on the site for quite a while. This is a strictly plot-oriented story, and although distinct ship-lines are drawn, the story does not revolve around them. It opens with Harry, Ron, and Hermione making their way towards the first "turning point" at which Harry, along with one other mysterious hitchhiker will be carried back in time to the Marauders' first year, and a simultaneous plot line will depict the Marauders from age eleven to the second turning point in 1980. This, of course, is all part of an insidious plot of Lord Voldemort's. It follows Harry's disastrous ventures in his father's timeline, and eventually James himself is forced to jump throughout time and he will be responsible for repairing the timeline by snapping back and forth among the three turning points. James' reparations will take place AFTER Harry's foul-ups are explored. So the story will be divided as thus: 1) 1971-1980: Significant events in the Marauders and Severus Snape's lives, with flash-forwards to Harry's time to draw and/or emphasize connections. 2) 1971-1980 (again): Harry time-travels to 1971, along with Remus Lupin and Severus Snape, and blunders around history, much to the chagrin of the latter. 3) Starting from 1980, James Potter jumps around time, making reparations. Characters include an AU Hermione Granger from 2005, a mysterious bartender who knows more than he lets on, lots of the Marauders from all points in time, Lord Voldemort's broken but devious mother, Ghost!Dumbledore, the martyred Lily Evans, the enigmatic Snape as both a teenager and adult, R.A.B., Harry's pureblooded grandfather who is surprisingly Godfather-esque, and more... I have changed the rating from T to M for language just to be on the safe side. Chain Reaction is an intense, multi-layered time-travel story, but it makes for an excellent and enjoyabe read (of course :) ). There is no fixed amount of chapters as of yet, but the reconstruction this story is experiencing is resulting in the re-writing of all previous chapters so it is pretty much a new story. In that case, it is not recommended you start this story yet unless you are in want of major plot holes and much time travel confusion. No further updates will be put up until the reconstruction is complete. There will be HBP spoilers. Reconstructin Begins: 7/19/05 Projected End: Sometime in 2006... :D Progress: I just finished the sixth chapter, and the majority of the seventh chapter has already been pre-written, so it will be much easier and simpler to read since I was thirteen when I wrote those sections. I have to do a lot of original writing for the seventh chapter to fill in the plot holes, make the story understandable after the first revised six chapters, and there's a ton of cutting and pasting going to be involved. So hang in there! Chapter seven should be up by January. When the Gods Intervene: I'm going to put off this story for quite some time, because mid-way through the story I realized that the writing was terrible, and after some more in-depth exploration, it hit me with a flash: I was writing this story badly becauseI didn't know how to properly convey sexual energy/chemistry/tension. For obvious reasons. :D But then I thought about it some more, and I decided that after I am done revising Chain Reaction I will return to this story and revise all the chapters before continuing to write it. I really, really want a solid framework for all of my stories before I start putting up new updates so they are a more enjoyable and easier-to-follow read. EDIT: I have actually started revising this story. It wasn't as difficult as I thought it would be, probably because I wrote most of it when I was...older than fourteen (as I was when I started writing Chain Reaction). :) Editing has consisted of general revising to make the story easier to follow, eliminating most (if not all) of Irene Wolfe's blatant Mary-Sue-ishness, and condensing chapters to make reading the story a less daunting prospect. There's only six more chapters left to revise before I can start posting again. Please R&R and let me know what you think! Finding Lily Evans: Oh dear, I feel really bad about this one because it is toiling in obscurity. Well, a sort of mediocre obscurity, but nevertheless... Anyways, I have a gut feeling that this one is pretty much completed, but I have to (obviously) add three, maybe four, more chapters before finally posting a COMPLETED sign. This will be done after revising Chain Reaction (a mighty feat), When the Gods Intervene (a daunting prospect that will no doubt take some few months). No revising will be done to Finding Lily Evans since I have pretty much labeled this as AU in the first place, and I like this story. I really do. It was my first one, and I blush to see what excellent writing the chapters demonstrate (I'm so modest.), but I also cringe when I re-read the attempted "poetic" smut. My philosophy is, if you don't know it, cloud it with poetry and sentimentalism to detract from the er--mechanisms. A word about my favorites: most of them are brilliant SSHG stories written by other authors. If you're looking for something other than that, I sincerely doubt skimming through my favorites will help you with your endeavors. Actually, look through them by all means, and we shall rejoice in recieving another convert:D |
