![]() Author has written 7 stories for Avatar: Last Airbender, and Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir. Who am I? I am a lover of fanfiction, prone to fluff and nonsense. I believe that smut is usually a good thing, especially on Sunday. I started reading fanfiction back when The Good Ship (Ron/Hermione) still wasn't canon. I started writing fanfiction in August 2014 because Zutara. I'm obsessive about Avatar: The Last Airbender. If you want to pick a fight, tell me Aang "had" to get the girl because he was the hero. I believe in strong female characters and men who live up to them. I just want my characters to be happy, so in my world, a little conflict never killed nobody *important. I'm also an indie writer! If you'd like to read some of my original stuff, private message me. I'm currently recruiting advance review copy (ARC) readers. What am I writing right now? My current fic is from the Miraculous Ladybug: Tails of Ladybug & Chat Noir fandom and it's called Mend: The Story of the Cat that Broke the Bug's Heart. If you're a shipper and you have not watched any Miraculous Ladybug, get yourself on Netflix now and start watching. You will not be disappointed. What have I previously written? Avatar: The Last Airbender FanFiction On Friendship & Fluff - A series of Zutarian one-shots, leading up to Aang's defeat of Fire Lord Ozai. This is me reading Zutara between the lines of the cartoon. It's not blatant, though, and it really is more of a friendship series than a romance series. Complete. Another Word for Alchemy (AWfA) - A Zutarian fic set 5 years after Aang defeats Fire Lord Ozai. Complete, but there are outtakes! On Trust & Pleasure - an AWfA outtake from Chapter 21 about Zuko and Katara's first time. Maybe...Zukka Drinking Buddies - an AWfA outtake from Chapter 17 about Zuko and Sokka getting inebriated together. Still on the horizon - AWfA II. The sequel! Kiss Me to Safe - A one-shot Zutarian ending for ATLA (told from Katara's perspective and then Zuko's perspective). Complete. 110 A.F.N. - A Genderbender - a fan-requested genderbender based in a world where the Northern Water Tribe fell and the Avatar was captured in Ba Sing Se by the Fire Nation. A little darker, a bit of an experiment, but something I'm enjoying the challenge of writing. What do I love? I'm all about the ships. My current favorites include: Zutara (Avatar: The Last Airbender); Drarry - (Please); Solangelo (Heroes of Olympus); Jelsa (Rise of the Guardians/Frozen); Klance (Voltron); Ladynoir, Adrienette, Ladrien, Marichat (Miraculous Ladybug). Ohh...I'm also all about the gorgeous artwork out there. I especially adore Beanaroony, Drisela and Pugletz, and I wish wish wish that Drunk Zutara would start writing/posting again. When I find a story I love, I read it multiple times. Ozai's Vengence by Fandomme is probably my favorite ATLA fic of all time. It was hello amazing. Lastly, I love this fanfiction site for providing such a wonderful library of fantasies and for encouraging people to write. There's so much freedom and wonder in writing, and it's such an incredibly awesome thing to write something thinking "yeah, no one's going to appreciate this but me" and then find out that "omg, someone is reading this." And guess what? It is thanks to what I learned as a fanfiction writer that I was finally able to write a story of my own and publish it. Fanfiction is an amazing source of literary fun, and I am so grateful for this community. What do I hate? Cowardly reviews. Fanfiction can be such a positive thing, for readers and writers alike. I'm not a professional writer, but I really think writing fanfiction has improved my original writing, and I love writing fanfiction. It's always felt empowering to me. Like reaching across the void with something you've written for the sake of connecting to someone out there that might feel the same way you feel about a particular story. (Fangirls unite.) Reviews are a wonderful part of that connection. A review is one way the reader can reach back to the writer. Positive reviews always feel good, and I find negative reviews helpful, deserved and important as long as they contain constructive criticism. There was a review of one of my stories early on that labeled my stuff "juvenile" and labeled me "young." That damn review stung for weeks (especially because I'm not actually all that young), but it also really forced me to think about what I was doing to sound "juvenile" and whether I wanted that tone. I think that made me a better writer, and as a writer, I feel I need to be able to suck it up and take constructive reviews for the sake of learning. I am even appreciative of them after the initial sting goes away. Reviews are good for writers when they are positive or constructive. I feel very strongly, however, that it is inappropriate to publish a negative anonymous review for the purpose of advertising general disappointment with a story on a forum such as this one. The classic example of this is the review from an anonymous guest that goes something like this: "Doing X completely ruined the story for me." That kind of review doesn't help anyone. It only destroys the writer's morale. If a writer is doing something that completely and irreparably ruins a story for you, please consider just finding something else to read. We're all working on our craft here. We should encourage each other to keep writing and keep improving, not tear each other down with stupid reviews. There are better ways to provide feedback. And that's all for now. XOXOXO!!! Sandy (AKA FanPanda13) |
