God I really want to see Mai and Katara as friends now. I actually like Mai, if I was for Zutara I would love Maiko so decent alternative. I think you get the characters really well the only thing I'd disagree with you is about Katara liking those previous kisses. When I first watched ATLA I could tell they were going for the hero gets the girl thing regardless of chemistry and I could not like them because everytime she is not into it there is no signal and he still keeps going. ANYWAY, I could go on about their relationship squicking me out forever. My point is great characterisation. Love your writing. It has so much emotion and reading your stuff, I'm right there with them which is why you write one of my favorite zutara fics.

Gah, the last chapter hit me with feels, not fluff but angst, lol...it's still good and very canon compliant. I would love to think of Zutara still keeping in touch as friends even though they have their own lives with their respective partners...but man, the if only's here hurt me but in a good way. I'm just so glad for your other Zutarian fics where Zutara is endgame. Thank you!

I am absolutely speechless! This was absolutely amazing and it definitely needs - desperately needs - more reviews. I loved the ending because it seemed SO right. All these little snippets seemed to lead up to this kind of ending and I appreciate the amount of emotions and how well you characterized everything. I loved the whole "different world, this world" concept and I can't even begin to describe the genuineness of the tears that came to my eyes when Zuko hugged Katara at the end. Your writing is fantastic and I can't wait to read more from you! Thank you for this wonderful story!

Wowww... you wrote the Zuko and Katara dynamic exactly as they are in my headcanon- and I mean /exactly/! I think I haven't seen a post-southern raiders situation written down as perfectly as you did, it just worked so well. I also love the Hakoda chapter, I really wish we'd seen more of him in the series and you pretty much captured him. The snippets before Katara forgives Zuko are hilarious (because I love their interactions at that point too) and Katara and Zuko mom-and-dad-ing Aang made me giggle (again; you nailed it). I also like how you write all of the others, especially Toph :) and man that last chapter had me aching, it was so bittersweet and so exactly like I imagine them parting- you captured the deep emotions that I associate with them, no kisses required. I read some of the stories/sequences several times, that's how good it was!
