Story Progress: Have decided to finally post some of my 40k and Battletech stories. I don't anticipate them being very popular, but they're projects I've been working on for some time and I figure I might as well share them. The final few chapters of Old Souls are coursed out and ready to be written, but I want to finish all of them before I post any of them.

Bio: Born to loving parents an uncomfortable number of ago, JFalcon aka Zoness greatly enjoyed being read to as a child. The odd thing was he enjoyed chapter books more than picture books. He doesn't really remember why but it probably had to do with chapter books being much longer. When he was finally able to read to himself, he tackled Narnia, Dinotopia, Animorphs, even Lord of the Rings.

But he was not truly motivated to write until he was introduced to the Battletech series. With its charismatic villains, dashing heroes and those crazy Jade Falcons, a boy at the age of twelve simply couldn't resist. Having been mildly interested in the TV series when it first came out, and a collector of the cards he was amazed at how much . . . bigger, the universe in the books was, and how many fantastic writers were telling its tales and to this day it remains his very favorite universe and setting and he looks forward to new novels. It was due to the Battletech series that JFalcon decided to begin writing, and it was from there that he took his earliest pen name.

He'd go on to read series like Bone, Magic the Gathering, Redwall, Forgotten Realms, some Star Wars, JtHM and Squee, a couple of the old classics, Harry Potter, Romance of the Three Kingdoms, A Song of Ice and Fire, the Ciaphas Cain and the Horus Heresy series of Warhammer 40,000, the Mercy Thompson series by Patricia Briggs (Alpha and Omega not so much) but it was Battletech that inspired him to be a writer.

Like just about every BattleTech fan he devised his own mercenary unit, the Solaris Blues. At school or home he wrote pen and paper stories of their exploits, always trying to capture the same, sometimes grim feel of the Battletech universe. These stories were very rarely shared, but always seemed to be enjoyed by others. Unfortunately to his knowledge no stories about the Blues survive to this day, though he revived them and their descendants into the Dark Age as the Fenix Fusiliers and has considered adding blue flames to their color scheme but lacks the painting skill, but that's neither here nor there.

One day, as either a teen or pre-teen (he doesn't remember which) he found this magical web site, and after reading for some time decided it'd be fun to get some feedback on his writing. His first stories for Fan Fiction (dot net) were of the Digimon category. He branched to ZOIDs, Final Fantasy, Armored Core 2, Ranma, Forgotten Realms, Wing Commander, Gargoyles and Naruto, though if you don't see it on the site it probably hasn't survived. He's still writing stories set in 40k, Dragon Ball Z, BattleTech and original works, and now-a-days is really embarrassed by how pretentious his old bio reads, he can't remember if it was "the joke" back in 2011 but he feels awkward updating it.

These days he mostly reads Warhammer 40,000, supports a growing Chapter of First Legion descent known as the Redeemers of Caliban, a growing collection of Fenix Fusiliers and some really full shelves. He's also a gamer who loves RPGs and the Dynasty Warriors/Romance of the Three Kingdoms series which might explain his tendency to write large scale stories with massive casts. He reads less manga these days but still watches some Anime (though he was briefly traumatized by Ikkitousen and hates it with a fiery passion to this day) and is a sometimes reluctant part of a very large Pathfinder group which eats up his Saturday nights so no writing ever gets done. His favorite writer to this day remains Michael A. Stackpole.
