Damn that scene with Kotaro and Nao solidified my reasons on why I love this fic. Character development and plot progression seems to be perfect and the pace is just right. This fic is gold.

Wow, dark much? Don't get me wrong it makes for a great turmoil to fight through but so much seemingly senseless violence AND under the name of an innocent/allied village? That's cruel, especially so soon after a Genin team annihilation. But cruelty and death is a part of life and war, which is something all ninjas must face, no matter how harsh it may seem to the readers.
Sorry I sort of rambled there. It's a good story so far and I am enjoying it though I was slightly taken aback by the cruelty of the last passage.
I am also surprised to see so many Genins travelling during wartime, when it should be dangerous but then again I don't know much about what your characters can or can't handle.
