Author has written 4 stories for Death Note, Labyrinth, and Stranger Things, 2016. Hey. I joined a few (read: many) years ago, have written a few stories, taken down a few stories, left up a story that people liked but I, frankly, think needs a major reworking prose wise (but, hey, if it works for some people, who am I to complain?). Now, years later, I'm back. As of October 2018, I have stopped two and a half years into my medical degree with no intention of returning to it, and am devoting nearly all my time to A) church, and B) writing an original novel that with eventually be published. When it is, I'll let you know. Until then, let's dwell in the mystery, shall we ;) My type of writing is: traumatised girl traumatising guy = interesting. (Plus an abundance of commas.) Fanfiction is a way for me to continue up-skilling my writing while also getting to play amongst the community that taught me to love the written word. Hope you guys enjoy! A few ground rules to my writing: No slash No smut No swearing (to a degree, and generally no blasphemy unless that's what the character ordered) I want to say I reply to reviews, but I've grown lax lately. Hopefully, I'll improve again now that I'm back on the scene. Beautiful Chaos: Death Note; Light/OC - started 2014, finished 2016-ish Synopsis: 'I once knew a girl who loved things most people shun. Every man she ever loved was terrible to her, terrible I tell you. But there was something about them that intrigued her - she liked broken things, broken people. To her, if there was nothing to fix there was nothing to love' - Christopher Poindexter. Light/OC Warning: Some low-importance OCs due to the world Minerva (main character) inhabits being slightly shifted to the one Light is in (she is actually invested in her school, shock-horror). Don't worry, they will start to disappear as the story progresses and more canon characters come into play. Also, there will be angst and horrible childhood trauma. Seriously. These kids are quite messed up. (Extra warning: the prose of a fifteen year old who thought she was good) Life Without The Sunlight: Labyrinth; Jareth/Sarah (pre-relationship) - started 2019, finished 2019 Synopsis: "Don't go that way!" said the worm. "That way leads straight to that there castle. Sarah unwittingly takes a darker path and finds out that the Labyrinth, and the world around it, really aren't what they seem. Notes: inspired by Neil Gaiman's style of writing. It's an investigation into world-building with a chaotic mix of different mythologies (mainly Celtic with some Arabian and Egyptian thrown in), while also giving Jareth and the Labyrinth a backstory. In this universe, the Labyrinth isn't some trippy dream of Sarah, nor is Jareth her 'fantasy dude', so it's been fun divining the reason behind that universe. It becomes fantasy/adventure by the end. (Warning: a few OCs in the form of magical creatures and major departure from the movie.) Updates on Tuesdays and Saturdays (NZ-time) until it's all posted. To Find It, It Will Cost Everything I Have: Stranger Things; Billy Hargrove - started/finished 2018 Synopsis: Billy Hargrove has learnt that you've got to free yourself, because no one will do it for you. (1980s bad boys have backstories too.) Notes: Short little character-study into Billy Hargrove's backstory as to why he is the way he is. It was done as development for an OC/Billy fic that I lost interest in, but I like the concept so I kept it up. (Warning: not light-hearted) To Just Get Away From Everyone: Glass (2019)/Split (2017); Kevin/Casey - started 2019, being updated Synopsis: The Beast was supposed to protect the Broken. So why was Casey Cooke bleeding from a sniper round? Kevin's alters take matters into their own hands, and finally do what they were supposed to - protect Kevin, and that means protecting Casey (and getting a little help from her) too. Now a multi-chapter fic (in which Kevin meets every part of himself). Notes: I have no plot for this atm. Seriously, besides 'Kevin meets all his alters while living in a cabin in the woods with the Dunn men and Casey Cooke'. We're taking this one step at a time, which means the updates might be sporadic if I hit a snag. The trouble with not pre-writing the stuff you start posting. Anyway, this will get pretty dark as Kevin starts to meet the more difficult alters, but it is intended to be a happy ending/fix-it story, focusing mostly on Casey and Kevin with some David and Joseph thrown in for diversity. Intended to be 24 chapters (prologue each character, with Mary and Ian smushed into one). God Bless |
