I would read the sequel! I promise I would! Pinkie promise! Please, please, PLEASE post it! Lose ends may be tied up, but it cannot end there! PLEASE! I’m begging here, I need more! I need to know about catching fire, and the two of them going back in, and Katness and Gale dealing with Arena after affects, and Katness dealing with the after affects of being surgically altered, and Haymitch dealing with the after affects of letting her! I need to know! I need more! PLEASE!

I really liked the story and I really want to read the second part. Your writing is brilliant, but I agree that Katniss's personality is very different from the original, although I suppose that in the sequel to the story you'll see a better development in that.

I hope that you will really continue this, it is a very good project and I assure you that you will have a constant reader here

Good story but I don’t feel like Katniss had the right personality.

I like how this played out. I knew Katniss would try to keep as much emotion as possible in, and you did a great job with that. I look forward to seeing how this story plays out.

Loved the alternative to the original book. Gale and Katniss makes much more sense than Peeta. Much less angst and indecision. Will definitely check out the sequel!

Just a note: there is no way a trained archer would struggle with 8 pounds, the bow string would be 10 pounds if pressure each time she pulls it back. Plus dragging a whole deer carcus through town is 30-40pounds

Katniss really comes off as irrelevant with Gale there. Firing the arrow at the Gamemakers was Katniss' thing, something which showed her spirit as the Mockingjay. Based on how things are going, it seems like Gale will be the face of the revolution rather than her and like she's basically his sidekick. She's overshadowed. I don't like it.

I really liked this story because I’ve always shipped Katniss and Gale but I didn’t like how Gale took some of Katniss’s “fame” like shooting an arrow at the game makers or getting the bow and arrow from the cornucopia mostly because it kind of took away from her rebellious badass image.

It's really good so far, but one thing I don't really like is how Katniss seems less headstrong and independent than she does in the books. In this story she blushes a lot more, and she's a lot more mumbly, especially around Gale. It's a great story, but if you could change that part, that would make it even better. You don't have to, though, it's your story. :)

I really love your idea for this plot! It's really unique and really good so far. :D

Great story. I have one major annoyance though. Katniss is even more dim-witted and socially awkward than in canon. I understand why you made it so though. So that you can add extra drama to the awkward romance.

I realized I added this story to my favorites quite a while ago but never gave it a review, and after reading this story again, I am at a bit of a loss as to why I didn't do so - it's excellent! I think you did well by limiting the victors to District 12 - anything else wouldn't have really made sense. The addition of Marvel and Foxface as more of characters was a cool choice - one I happened to enjoy a lot! (I also have read "Only You" and think it's a great companion piece.) I think you handled the switch of Gale for Peeta very well, and this was a fun read.
I'd totally read a sequel.

Also, you write Haymitch as elderly, when at best he's only around 40-42 (I can't remember exactly how old he was in his games). He may be rough around the edges from his drinking, but he's not geriatric.

I know it's been a while and who knows who will read this, but just throwing my 2 cents in. The writing is great, but I'm having a hard time with how weak Katniss is with Gale around. I'm not saying it wouldn't happen that way. Maybe it would have had she gone into the games with him instead of Peeta. It's just really hard to see her this weak and seeing him steal her thunder so to speak. I'm torn with how I feel, but I'm invested so I'm definitely gonna keep reading!
