Author has written 22 stories for Lord of the Rings, Guardians of Time, Pellinor, Harry Potter, and A Midsummer's Night Dream. My name is Stefanie, I'm 28, and I've been lurking about this website for a good few years now - fourteen, if you can believe it! - writing relatively consistently, and always dreaming up what is coming next. I've officially finished three multi-chapter stories (Yes, yes, hold your applause) and am immensely proud of myself because of that. A little bit about myself, should you be interested... I graduated from university with an English degree and spend my free time writing and editing. Even after so many years of writing fanfiction, I find there is no shortage of inspiration for more! Most of the time, I let a story sit on the backburner for a good year or two before I ever begin truly writing it, and I will happily read and reread the same book a dozen or more times. The way that I prefer to write is much like a "real" writer - keeping everything under wraps until the Big Reveal when it's all complete and edited. As I get older, the quality of my work becomes more and more important to me and what that means for you is that you will see a lot of me for a brief stretch of time (during which I will upload complete stories), and then nearly nothing of me at all. One-shots and short stories will appear on my profile as the inspiration strikes. Would like to give a little shoutout here to my good buddy Siobhan (known around here as Mermaid Sushi) because she added a portion about me on her profile... so now I have to one-up her on mine! She is truly one of my best buds, without whom I would likely never write again. She is so awesome that she has simultaneously saved my writing butt and dragged me all over London while doing it. She is more than just a beta to me, she is a great friend. She may have disappeared off the face of the internet for six or seven years, but she has come back stronger than ever. She is currently writing a story about Thranduil that will blow your mind, and I promise that it will be worth your while to read it when she begins to post. So add her to your "Author alert" list already! I have a habit of betaing for people. He's a short history! Would like to give an especially big shout out to Mermaid Sushi, who is my beta! She's stuck being the only one I'll ever ask. What Am I Doing Right Now? (The stories at the top of the list are more likely to get finished than the bottom ones) "The Metamorphoses Trilogy", This will be my next project: a three-part epic told from three points of view: Aralin, Legolas, and Nemir. My plan (God willing!) is to be finished with this by the end of 2012! A short summary: ("No Name!"), a collaboration between me and my favorite person, Shivvers. Should be coming sometime in the future. Story of two elves as they travel from Mirkwood to Ithilien, except that it won't suck like most other collabs do. IMPORTANT NOTE: As much as it upsets me to leave stories unfinished, I have permanently suspended writing Secrets and Going Home. The collection of stories you see below this profile is not only many years' worth of dedication to writing and creative output, but it is also a summary of the creative output of my teenage years and young adulthood. The result of so much growth and change is that I have outgrown these particular stories and characters, just like I have outgrown pairs of shoes. I can admire them as much as I want and realize where I wanted to go with them, but my feet no longer fit comfortably. If you are interested in seeing where these stories would have gone, I would be happy to share the endings with you in a PM or an email. -Ivy! |
