Hi guys, it's Kim here. I don't know if anyone will read this - I haven't posted here in over 2.5 years, but I still occasionally receive favourite/follow notifications, and I figure if one person ever comes looking, they deserve an explanation, rather than a two-year-old bio promising new content.

I want to thank all the people who read and commented on my stories here. I learned what fanfiction was in the Vampire Diaries fandom, read my first stories, and tried my hand at creating stuff of my own. I grew a lot as a writer, from a girl who toyed around with silly fantasy stories that never saw the light of day to somebody who could actually think about plot and character development. I made a few friends along the way, too, and I'll always be grateful (to list a few, Ina, Cher, Jay, Jenn, Michelle, Layla - some of whom I've been able to meet with in person!). The Vampire Diaries was my first real introduction to fan culture, so it will always hold a place in my heart.

That said, it's time for me to completely retire from the Vampire Diaries fanfiction community, and close the door on any future works for this account. I no longer watch the show - I haven't since the end of season 5. I've begun a new chapter, leaving this account and this fandom behind. It's a part of my life that has been over for a long time, as much as I didn't want to admit it, but it definitely shaped me into the person I am today. Like all of you, though, I will be hoping for Damon and Elena to find their way to each other when the show ends this season.

Thank you so much for everything you ever taught me, as readers, friends, and fans. I won't ever forget it.
