In between stories can be very dissatisfying, just because they can't possibly have a different conclusion than what actually happened, but the best ones still make you feel like you went somewhere. This was one of those. It had just the right amount of conflict and build, and then the end brought things back to canon while still concluding the story of the fic itself. I really enjoyed it. :)

That part when Elena said that him loving her was a problem was harsh. He really did not deserve that. Elena was so self righteous in that episode. Sometimes i wish for Damon not to lash out by sleeping with Rebekah (because that will only show that he was hurt) but by being indifferent with Elena.

He should just try to let her go. Let Elena miss him and come to her senses and for once try like hell to regain Damon's affection.

Can I just tell you that you write like a pro? Because you seriously do. I honestly wish something like this had happened on the show. This is absolutely fantastic. I could honestly swear everything Damon thought is everything Damon thinks on the show even. You have such a nice grasp on his personality and even Elena's and then there's Stefan being the eternal jealous boyfriend, which is his personality so you got that right down. Also that thing you said about how as soon as Elena found out about Stefan being back on the bunny diet, it's as if the conversation Damon and her were having - before being so rudely interrupted - never happened. Expected because "oh, look, Stefan went all rippah and killed like 50 people and didn't just kill them but like tore their heads off their bodies while he was drinking his fill but oh, he's back on the diet, I can tell how sorry you are Stefan. I love you. It'll always be you even though I feel things for Damon that I shouldn't and blah blah blah". I just hate how Stefan was just forgiven after everything that happened in S3. Like um, did he even apologize? I certainly don't rmr that happening. Anyways, this is turning into a major rant and I shall stop. Just know that this was amazing and I will definitely be showing to around and have people read it. I would love to see Elena seek Damon out to finish this conversation as she thinks it's not done. I want to know what she still has to say. And now, I will go stalk your profile and find more things to read from you. Keep up the good work! :) xx
