I solemnly swear to review every story I read, no matter how old the story is or how many reviews it already has.

Reviews are so important to a writer. As well as letting them know whether you're enjoying their story, it allows you to give constructive criticism on how they can improve their work, which is so important in improving their writing skills.

And think to how annoying it is for you as a writer to have no reviews for a story you've worked so hard on when you know that a lot of people have read it!

And also think before reviewing a story complaining that somebody is 'Out of Character'. Remember that everyone interprets and connects with characters differently.

Just a quick rant...

OK, so in 'Gone with the Wind' by Margaret Mitchell, Rhett's exact line is "My Dear, I Don't Give a Damn." The film rewrote this line to "Frankly my dear..."
I've never seen the film, and I don't really plan to because it'll never live up to the book in my opinion, but I do think that that line sort of ruined what that discussion between Rhett and Scarlett was about. In the book, Rhett's last line seemed almost weary, almost as though he couldn't keep fighting anymore because he was so tired, and I do truly believe he still loved Scarlett, whereas in the film the rewritten line seemed to take all the emotion out of their relationship and instead seemed like Rhett was having the last hurrah before he left her. Not at all what I took from the book.
