It was a really good story!

This was fun and sweet story. There were a few of these "switch" fics through the years but this one was different because they're usually too angsy and plot driven but this one was light for the most part on that and I enjoyed it too. I also enjoyed Elena and Katherine's relationship and I don't usually like reading any different POV except DE but S/K was interesting even though I don't like either of them LOL

As for the most important part aka Delena I liked it. At least the first 13 chapters or so. It was interesting, hot and sweet but where you kinda lost me is when Damon disappeared for months out of nowhere from one chapter to the next? I'm so confused by this direction you took and in this way without explanation, without last proper DE scene...There was literally nothing.
What's worse once he came back it was like he was forced to come back and he wouldn't otherwise and he didn't even plan to directly approach Elena in the first place (leaving the gift in the mail box seriously?) and when he did he expected her to just fall back in his arms and chase after him after he planned to leave the same day? I'm sorry but not a single thing about this made sense. It made Damon look like an asshole and a coward giving his minimal effort to the woman he supposedly loves so much.
If it wasn't for Caroline he would've left anyway after being in town for 5 mins. Also the way he was angry at Elena for nothing coming after him or texting him when he didn't do any of those things made him just look even worse. His love just felt weak.
Elena is far too forgiving after everything he put her through and the way he was after he appeared. As she was saying everything he put her through I just felt sorry for her. He DID NOT deserve to be forgiven for this so easily. His apology felt flat and more about his man pain than Elena herself WHEN HE WAS THE ONE THAT LEFT AND DIDN'T CONTACT HER FOR MONTHS
Damon was really written terribly in the last chapters. I was so disappointed because I liked him before this. I'm still confused by what happened here.
Also I would've appreciated more of fluff in the end after everything but last chapter was disappointing. You could've at least given them epilogue of what they've been up to in the next few months.
Lot of potential and good moments but second part of the story had a lot of flaws
