He'd tried to confide in her, but he should have known it would never work. His father's throne was not his by right, and the island he'd once called home no longer really felt like that to him. So he'd cast aside the ties that bound him there and leapt out unfettered into the world, and it would take her to cross two oceans to drag him back again, and to save them from themselves.

Time passed differently when he left - what had seemed mere hours to him, in that facsimile of King's Cross after Voldemort's killing curse had struck him down, encompassed months back in the world where remained those whom he loved. And when he returns, with Voldemort gone, it's time to go back - to take his place in the world, and to see that sunlight at long, long last.

The fight in him remained, though they'd never know the truth. The war they faced was his as well, and only he could end it. His people, as he loved them, hated him in equal measure, but he'd kill that awful creature, probably see his own end by doing so, and even if they never knew, at least they would be safe.

Movie-deviation fic - Hiccup's patience snaps and he leaves Berk. He returns at the Viking's time of greatest need, but how will they respond to the changes he has wrought to their way of life? See start of first chapter for more detailed info!

Hiccup is terrible at getting his emotions across by speaking, and has a go at writing it down instead... A little poem that kinda popped into my head, hopefully the format of it is self-explanatory enough.

Tragedy befalls Berk's dragon population, and nobody knows what has caused it. Accusations are flying and the air is charged with grief and anger. In the midst of this, can Hiccup save at least some of the peace he brought about - and in the process, will he lose the one he loves?

Hiccup and Astrid are trying to sleep. The recieved wisdom ought to be that you leave them ALONE when they're trying to do that. However, babies are notoriously bad at adhering to recieved wisdom - they'll make all the racket they want.

One would expect a dragon as powerful as a Night Fury to be noble and upstanding in his behaviour and demeanour, but then again, they do grow hungry very quickly... Oneshot, intended to be funny, I hope it is...
