Author has written 5 stories for Buffy: The Vampire Slayer. I'm a lesbian in her late 40's that works in the IT industry for a nonprofit AIDS organization using my powers for good. I'm also a tea-loving, nycto-bibliophile, and an armchair Egyptologist that has delusions of being a writer. I love words, music, and nothing is sexier than intellect for me. I'm a bit of a latecomer to the whole fanfiction medium on a whole but am glad to have found a creative outlet after having lost the desire to write for pleasure as time became more and more scarce. All my stories so far have been for the Buffy the Vampire Slayer pairing of Willow and Tara, as they are my preferred pairing. Dry Heat is my oldest and longest story to date that was first published elsewhere in June of 2010. I can't believe I've been working on it for this long, and it's even novel-length now, but I am still working on it - I will finish it even if it kills me! I still read new stories in the BtVS world but those are few and far between anymore. I have also moved on to the Harry Potter universe and surprisingly enjoy the Hermione/Minerva pairing quite a bit as well as Hermione/Ginny/OC. My Hogwarts House is Gryffindor, my wand is Elder wood with a dragon heartstring core, 13" and unyielding flexibility, and my Patronus is an Oryx. My Ilvermorny House is Wampus. I have written stories on request, but I will not under any circumstances write incest or rape stories. I don't care to read them either, there is enough of both in the real world just turn on the news or read a newspaper headline or two, the raping and killing of women and more specifically LGBT women to "cure them" is odious at best and morally bankrupt in reality. As such I prefer not to have it in my fantasy worlds. I'd also like to think that I am creative enough to use other plot devices without resorting to constant cliffhangers, tired old tropes, and violence that is primarily aimed at women. I don't really write a whole lot of angst because I prefer to write love stories; epic all-encompassing, sweet, funny love stories. Maybe that’s why I don’t get what I would consider abusive pairings or relationships with a character that tormented or bullied them or the whole of the relationship prior was antagonistic but now all of a sudden they're in love even if they are canon. Abuse isn't always physical and maybe I don't need that much angst in my life at this point, I guess. I tend to "write what I know", so some things may be dark or dramatic temporarily but ultimately in my wish fulfillment, my characters will always get a happy ending. |
