Author has written 24 stories for Legend of Zelda, Doctor Who, Mario, Kingdom Hearts, and Avatar: Last Airbender. I'VE MOVED TO AO3 FOR A LOT OF REASONS. FTPVERSE CONTINUES THERE. CHECK ME OUT. ARCHIVEOFOUROWN DOT ORG. I'M STILL RARMASTER ON THERE. TRUST ME, THIS IS THE TRUE AND ULTIMATE FTPVERSE EXPERIENCE. x FtPverse fan? Check out rarmastersftpverse (dot) blogspot (dot) com for chapter commentary, featuring fun facts and sometimes details that didn't quite make it in! Also check out ftpcast (dot) blogspot (dot) com for character profiles for ALL (yes, all) of the important FtPverse characters! Finally: ftpverse has a tumblr at ftpverse (dot) tumblr (dot) com! I post on there much more frequently, but, be wary of spoilers. x Changes/Update log for the FtPverse Series Oct 18 2014 - THch15 (Riku vs Larxene) battle was rewritten to clear up continuity things Oct 22 2014 - the term "Disable" was changed to "Deactivate", though "Disable" is still a term within the series (see DIch6 and NFch7 for details on the distinctions between the two.) Apr 2017 - Edited the second half of the Truth Hurts to tweak Vexen's character and clean up Replica Program continuity. August 2017 - finished editing Dead Inside, cleaning up continuity as well as fixing a bunch of things that pissed me off.x xXx x Explanation of "Falling to Pieces" / "FtPverse" series PLEASE NOTE, IN ADVANCE, THAT THERE IS A LOT OF VIOLENCE IN THIS SERIES. IT'S A LITTLE EXPECTED FROM A VIDEO GAME FANFIC BUT. I WANT YOU TO KNOW IT'S THERE. THERE IS ALSO SOME BLOOD. AND QUITE A FEW DEATHS. JUST THOUGHT I WOULD WARN YOU. There's also some talk about depression and abuse plus a little implied self harm (and an implied suicide?). I thought some people would appreciate knowing that up front. the Truth Hurts (TTH) - After being killed during the events of KH: Chain of Memories, the Riku Replica finds himself on Destiny Islands, somehow alive. But how did he get here? Why isn't he dead? And why can't he remember anything!? Spans over the course of a month (ish) Falling to Pieces (FtP) - takes place three months after the Truth Hurts. Sora's jealousy of Riku has put him on the edge, and he's threatening to teeter off and fall into the darkness any minute. Can Kairi save him before it's too late? Will Riku bear the burden of saving the Worlds, or does he honestly just not care enough to try? And what's going on with Namine? Spans the course of aboouuut three weeks. Nothing's Fair (NF) - a "side-story" covering Roxas's life (considered third in the series) and how he fits into everything. In this universe, Roxas is a Replica created by the Organization (since Sora was never turned into a Heartless and thus lacks a Nobody). Life is going well for him, until he meets a girl named Xion, who is apparently a "mistake". With Saix - who hates mistakes - in charge of the Replica Program, what does this mean for Xion? And what if Roxas would rather join that Replica Rebellion going on? The story begins halfway through Falling to Pieces. The Rewrite is now up. Dead Inside (DI) - begins three months after Falling to Pieces ends. Picks up where Falling to Pieces left off, with Riku still searching for Sora, and Sora still somewhere in the Realm of Darkness. After some time, Riku's put in charge of some Rebellion he's not sure he want's to be in charge of, and Sora leaves to go get a handle on his still restless darkness. There's a crapton more to it than that, but I'm not going to cover it all. FINALLY finished. Spans the course of three months. All that Remains (ATR) - KH3 equivalent. The road to recovery is a long one. Riku's still got some inner demons to face down, Sora doesn't really have it any better between the memory of his Shadow, plus his parents... Namine keeps having terrible nightmares, and it's all Kairi can do to keep everyone together. Not to mention Xehanort's supposed to come back, and are any of them really prepared for that? Starts like... three days after Dead Inside ends. xXx Another Side, Another Story (ASAS) - collection of scenes that just don't fit anywhere else in the series. Some scenes were scrapped. Some chapters are original drafts (like the extra chapters). Some scenes are AU. Some scenes are actually considered canon but concern a different set of characters (like Ven and Aqua) and therefore don't fit in with the mainstream of Dead Inside. Takes place... just... EVERYwhen. Some Things You Just Can't Escape ("Can't Escape" for short) - hosted on my sister's (forevermagik13) profile. Is a crossover between our KH fanfics, though it does detail a lot of events that take place in my universe, especially concerning the Rebellion. Convenient link to said story here: http://www.fanfiction.ws/s/6902839/1/Some_things_you_just_cant_Escape There are a ton of refs to Can't Escape in Dead Inside, but they are largely there for reference sake and so that you can manage reading three intertwining stories at once (DI, ASAS, Can't Escape). xXx Why does my fic (ftpverse) crossover with my sister's fic (atpverse) in Can't Escape? Plus, it was fun! Between life and other things, me and magik really aren't going to write any more crossovers, for the record. It was fun while it lasted though. xx Things/differences to keep in mind concerning FtPverse vs KH canon: - Kairi was born and raised on Destiny Islands. Her dad is still the mayor, but he's her biological father. (Her mother left when she was really young so she doesn't remember much of her. Her mother also came from another world.) - The Organization's Replica Program was extremely successful, creating roughly 120 successful Replicas. Replicas include three important Larxenes, about two important Marluxias, one important Zexion, and 5-10 important Vexens. There were Lexaeus Replicas but none were really important. There was also just one of Xigbar, who was pretty important. - Ven is left-handed. He was originally intended to be left-handed in KH canon (note KH2FM secret ending, along with some concept art) but it was apparently scrapped. I like the idea of him being left-handed, and it's not like it changes anything plot-wise, so why the heck not? - Roxas is a Replica, for reasons explained above. (Sora never became a Heartless, etc.) Nothing's Fair expands this, and his creation, and why he still looks like Ven despite being a Replica of Sora. - Xion is a Replica, but the whole "her appearance changes based on who looks at her" thing they were pulling in KH canon doesn't apply. The why of that is expanded on in Nothing's Fair, but the short version is she wasn't built to absorb memories/from absorbed memories, so her appearance doesn't rely on that anymore. - Riku is the Riku Replica from KH canon (also, he does not have a Keyblade, just for clarification.) - Namine is also a Replica and does not have the original Namine's ability to control memories. This is all covered in the Truth Hurts, and a little bit in Falling to Pieces, but if you skipped those and went straight to Dead Inside (which is totally fair because that's where all the good stuff is) then I guess it's something you would've missed. - Sephiroth is dead. (He and Cloud fought and finished their battle long before the Truth Hurts. Also in this universe, he is what is known as a Shadow - though I actually based a lot of my canon for Shadows on what KH canon gave me concerning him.) - BBS happened seven years before the Truth Hurts, instead of ten. Exact canon for BBS is up in the air, but I figure that, for the most part, it happened like canon did minus Aqua actually passing the Keyblade to Sora and the final battle (both of which are scenes documented in ASAS). Further information concerning BBS's place within FtPverse is located on it's page on the FtPverse blogspot. - Xehanort's possession of Terra's body was 100% successful, meaning he retained his ability to wield a Keyblade AND all of his memories. (He lost the Keyblade wielding ability on becoming Xemnas, however. His memories are, most likely, still intact.) More deets on this to be revealed as ATR progresses. - This universe, as of Dead Inside (ish) has two not-Replica Vexens. One of them is from ftpverse itself and goes by his original name, Even, while the other (who still goes by Vexen) has hopped over from magik's universe/"kh canon". He's the one who created Riku. - Aerith and Leon are adopted siblings!!! I didn't decide on this until about chapter 50 of ATR (due to having not played FF8 before then) so it doesn't really read like that but it is so important to me and I will (eventually) go back and edit things so it's more obvious!! Not just for clarity's sake, but, because it means so much to me. Look forward to it. - On this vein, Aqua and Terra and Ven are also adopted siblings! That just makes the most sense to me, based on the nature of their relationship presented in BBS. Also I live for sibling dynamics. ((If at any point anywhere I implied Tequa was a thing ignore it because four years ago I had some really forced ideas about relationships and oh my god not everyone has to be a couple, past me, let it go.)) - About Technology: In short, Destiny Islands has early 2000s tech (few cellphones, landlines are still a thing, generally one computer per house, rarely anyone has a laptop), and Hollow Bastion has roughly 2010 tech but everyone currently still has flipphones. Don't ask how internet works. The Moogles probably have something to do with it. xxx |
