Soul Flash here~ How you guys doin'?

Hey all, this is just a quick little update. Yes, I am still alive, even though I don't hardly go on this site anymore XD I just wanted to let those of you who come here know that I have picked up RMA again. Not much, but I'm currently writing the next chapter, and I'm almost done with it. With luck, I'll have it up in the next couple of days.

Okay, I'm sick of having that same text there. I haven't changed it much since I joined this site. XD Can you blame me, though? I've been a bit busy. Not to mention I almost never remember that I do have a profile.

Obviously my obsession is South Park, more specifically Kyle/Cartman. I enjoy their relationship in the show and like to imagine what it might be like if they actually got past that hate the have for each other. There's that saying that there's a fine line between love and hate, and I certainly believe it applies to these two. Besides, Cartman and Kyle are just so much more interesting than any of the other pairings. Especially with Cartman's... logic; picking them apart and developing what could possibly go on in their minds is a blast ;D

201 Controversy

Okay. Just a quick little snippet of my views on this whole thing. If you didn't already know, a group of radical Islamic extremists threatened Matt and Trey over episode 200 because they brought back the whole issue of showing an image of Muhammed. This is an issue because the Muslims basically have iconoclasm in their religion; i.e., they do not allow images of any religious figures. When a Dutch artist back in... I can't really remember what year... portrayed an image of Muhammed, he was killed by some extremists. His name was Theo van Gogh, I believe. Go look him up if you have the time.

Anyway, this brings me back to this whole thing with Matt and Trey. When episode 201 aired, every mention of Muhammed was bleeped out along with the usual censor block over his image. This was Comedy Central's doing; not Matt and Trey's. Because they feared for the safety of their employees (I'm guessing the ones who work in NY where the extremists who threatnened Matt and Trey are located; yes, people, they're in NY; think about that for a second) Comedy Central placed in bleeps over Muhammed's name each time it was mentioned, and later had episode 201 pulled after its first airing. It has not been shown anywhere since.

Now. I believe that CC was just in protecting human lives. They felt that their employees were in potential danger if they let the episode run essentially 'uncensored,' and they were pretty smart to play it safe. After all, extremists are true to their word. If they plan to kill, they plan to kill. Still, this is America. The fact that CC bowed down the extremists' demands all because of a simple image of Muhammed... well, it's a little crazy. In the episode, Jesus was shown watching internet porn. Buddah was shown doing cocaine. Moses was... well, Moses. Even so, my point is that other religious figures can be not only shown but made fun of, and yet no people from those religions threaten to kill. But when Muhammed is so much as shown as an image, some Muslims go crazy over it. And that's not the sad part. No, the sad part is that some Americans (who aren't true Americans in my book) will actually bow down to the extremists and do what they want all because they're scared of what might happen. They don't fight back. Was America not founded by men who broke away from Britain and fought the king for their own freedom? Did they not build the successful country we know and love today? Did they not fight for their own country when they needed to fight? Or did they just stand back and take it?

Just something to think about. I'm not getting on just Comedy Central. Again, it probably was a better choice for them to play it safe and avoid a potential disaster. But the fact that we're even allowing these radicals to live in our country in the first place? Why? This is America, after all. Freedom of speech, no? And it's not like Matt and Trey go out of their way to just make fun of Islam. They're fair; they make fun of everyone. Again, we're in America, right? We don't stand by and let people tell us what to do, right? Right? We shouldn't. If you think we should, then... well... you're not really an American.

Maybe I'm a little too outspoken about this. But it's pretty much what I feel. Because if we're just going to lay on our back while we let these extremists dominate all because we're scared we'll get our heads blown off, instead of standing up and defending what we believe in and die for what we believe in, well then they deserve to take us over and take control.

America wasn't founded by people who backed down. It was founded on people who stood up to what they thought was wrong and made the changes themselves. They defended what they thought were their own rights as people, and that sure as hell shouldn't dare change now. Not when we have people like these in our country. We need to stand up and overcome or die trying.

That's all I'm going to say for now. And for those who aren't Americans... this could pertain to you as well. I'll be fair and not leave anyone out of this because I know some of you don't live in America. XD
