Author has written 42 stories for Chronicles of Narnia, and River of Time Series. November 30, 2018 Hey guys, this is Narnian Nights. I know I haven't posted in absolutely forever, but there's plenty of reasons for that. 1, I hate my writing style now. I've tried to improve it over time, but I still hate it, even though I enjoy writing. To say I'm embarrassed by it is an understatement. Unless I ever find a really good beta reader, don't expect posts ever again. I honestly can't even read my old work at this point because I cringe so hard. 2, I have no time. The me that used to post so much was a teenager. A homeschooled, lonely teenager with way too much time on her hands. Now I'm an adult, working 6 to 7 days a week and trying to fit in time to hang out with friends in the meantime. 3, My main topic of writing was always Narnia. While I do still love Narnia, and it will always hold a very special place in my heart, I'm not quite as well versed in it as I used to be. As such, I don't think I could really do a Narnian story justice at this point in my life. So there you have it, don't expect many stories from me in the future. I've actually considered deleting this account altogether but for some reason, some people actually seem to enjoy my stories. Also, I don't think I could ever let go something that kept me living for so long. If it hadn't been for Narnia all those years ago, I can't say that I would be here today. The main reason I'm updating this today is because I still get emails notifying me of reviews and in the past few weeks, I've had some troll-ish ones. So I'm just here to say that no, I don't respond to reviews now because I don't have the time and I never really have, not out of disrespect for the reviewer but just because I'm horrible with words and constantly responding 'thank you' seemed redundant. That's why I left most of my thanks in the author's notes. And to anyone that feels the need to point out my faults in writing, or if you 'hate' the story, I'd just like to know one thing: Why are you even reading it? Because you want to comment with you vast Narnia knowledge and be a troll? Because you enjoy reading things that annoy you? If I ever find fanfics that I don't enjoy, either because of poor grammar or plot, do you know what I do? I click away and pretend I never read it! Not tear down the author because I know that for any of the faults in the story, they put their heart into it. They wrote it FOR FUN and decided to share it with the world. Constructive criticism is one thing (although when you've seen that someone hasn't posted in like, YEARS, why bother?) but being a troll is another thing entirely. Think before you review, on my stuff or anyone else's. So, in closing, I will not delete my account. I do still read my reviews, I just don't respond, unless there's some sort of call for help, in which case I turn to PMs, not comments. If you don't like my stuff, don't read it, and if you review that you hate it, it will be ignored. If you review true constructive criticism, it won't be ignored but it won't necessarily be taken to heart because I don't plan to edit anything and I don't write anymore. If you review something nice, please know that I truly appreciate it and it still makes my day. Long Live Aslan |
