The Most Superficial Breakdown of Me: 23/5'5''/117 lbs./dark brown hair/tan/blue eyes/Moderate-Conservative/Christian/Caucasian/Resident in Neurosurgery "The heart asks pleasure first and then excuse from pain." - Emily Dickinson "When we lose one we love, our bitterest tears are brought forth by the hours when we loved not enough." -Maurice Maesterliner "To predict the behavior of ordinary people in advance, you only have to assume that they will always escape a disagreeable situation with the smallest expenditure of intelligence." - Nietzsche "Adversity makes men, and Prosperity makes monsters." - Victor Hugo "There is no nonsense so gross that society will not, at some point, make a doctrine of it, and defend it with every weapon of communal stupidity."- Robertson Davies "Intellectual passion drives out sensuality." - Da Vinci "The test of first-rate intelligence is to hold two opposed ideas in the mind at the same time and still be able to function. Once should, for example be able to see things as hopeless and yet, be determined to make them otherwise." - F. Scott Fitzgerald My Reviews: If you think my reviews are really long - I intentionally try to make them that way. I see the short little two-word, half-sentence reviews and I know - as a writer myself - I'd be happy to receive any review, but some information would be helpful as well. Even a complete sentence in the reviews is rare - I see people write 'Liked it' or 'update plz' and I always wonder if the writer would appreciate a REASON for the interest. So I blather on and on in my reviews, and from the look of things I'm nearly alone in that. Hottest Men in Hollywood: John Stamos, Cam Giganget, RANT 1: (I'd add Chad Michael Murray to hottest men, but he is such an A in real life! Sophia Bush got out of that marriage just in time. And the way she handled it was awesome; i never had respect for any hollywood star until her. She is completely classy - all the way, and she deserves much better:))and now watching murray play the sensitive, squinty-eyed poet/novelist devoted to his childhood crush, who at the time his crush began, was the brooding bitter angry emo girl Peyton Sawyer is a little hard to believe - I'd have less trouble imagining Roseanne Bar play the role of a shy, docile ballerina... So for OTH, I rely only on fanfics now, and it's much more satisfying than the show:) -These guys' ATTITUDES/CHARACTERs are sexy, (their appearances might not be as hot): Robert Sean Leonard (James Wilson in S1-3 of House MD, anyway), Jack Wagner (Peter Burns is such an awesome character), David Caruso (in NYPD Blue, I know he was a jerk then, but wow, his character John Kelly is sexy), Ian McShane (Al Swearingen is one of my top three favorite charaters of all time. He is simply Brilliant), Hottest Women in Hollywood: Jennifer Connelly, Sophia Bush, Danneel Harris, Mischa Barton My Favorite Musicals: Rent, Les Miserables, Phantom of the Opera, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Jesus Christ Superstar, Grease, A Chorus Line, Fiddler on the Roof, Chicago, West Side Story, Don Quixote, Man of La Mancha, Camelot, Sunset Boulevard, Aspects of Love etc., Music Man,. (btw, i'm probably one of the only people in the world who can't stand the following musicals: hello dolly, oklahoma!, RANT 2: THE PRODUCERS - omg, this was the stupidest musical ever! i must be missing something because people actually like it! I had to force myself to watch past the scene when m. broderick overacts - in the beginning in the office with nathan lane... Goodness. This was just garbage; the only reason i watched it was because Curb Your Enthusiasm hyped it... I'll never trust Larry David again, lol:) ; and the conning theme is the same as in the Music Man - the only difference is Music Man is watchable with good music; the Producers is painful to watch with the ridiculous acting... It's like modern-day slapstick, stooges, and crap all slung together. When will men talking in high squeaky voice stop being something that people find amusing? Matt Broderick was my childhood crush and now, he's just horrible:( of course, that also may be because he's with that hag Sarah Jessica Parker. My favorite shows are: Neon Genesis Evangelion, One Tree Hill, The OC, House M.D., Frasier, Seinfeld, Deadwood, Curb Your Enthusiasm, The Sopranos, Desperate Housewives, Melrose Place (for the pure absurdity of the plots, and who could resist watching kimberly and amanda in bch mode:) not to mention the fact that Antonio Sabato Jr.'s one of the most gorgeous men in the television (number one, no contest is John Stamos... He's just unbelievably beautiful:)), DBZ, Chicago Hope, Inuyasha, etc. (I'm kind of stretching on the last few...) My favorite pairs: Nathan and Brooke (OTH, Brathan), Misato-Kaji or Misato-Shinji(ignoring the age diff) (Neon Genesis), Marissa-Ryan or Marissa-Volchek (The O.C.), Summer-Seth (The O.C.), House-Cuddy (House M.D.), Cuddy-Wilson (House M.D.), Al-Any character (Deadwood), Carlos-Gabrielle (Desperate Housewiives), Susan-Mike (Desperate Housewives), Bree-Carl (Desperate Housewives), Andrew-Justin (Desperate Housewives),Bulma-Vegeta (DBZ), Goku-Chichi (DBZ), Krillin-Marin (DBZ) Kate-Phillip (Chicago Hope), Kate-Jack (Chicago Hope), Kate-Aaron (Chicago Hope), Amanda-Peter (Melrose Place), Kimberly-Michael (Melrose Place), Roger-Mimi (Rent), Angel-Collins (Rent), Maureen- Joanne (Rent, MoJo), Least favorite pairs: Peyton, Lucas (OTH, Pucas), Peyton, Rachel (OTH, even less chemistry than the first pair...), Haley-Lucas/Haley-Brooke/Haley-Peyton/Haley-ANYONE ( I love her character, at least in the first 4 seasons, but I want no romantic fics with her; I just don't see it.), Chase-Cameron (House MD - she's so undeserving of Jesse Spencer, lol), Foreman-ANYONE (House, M.D., omg, horrifying and unwanted in SOOO many ways...), Least favorite characters: Carrie Bradshaw and Miranda Hobbs (Sex and the City, Miranda is only unbearable in season one-two with her snide emasculating nature, Carrie is so deluded and obsessed with herself it made the show unwatchable), Eric Foreman (House MD, O-B-N-O-X-I-O-U-S), Taylor Townsend (The OC, three words: "OVERACTING" & "REALLY ANNOYING"), Jimmy Cooper (The OC, what a deadbeat and yet another person who can't act), Quintin (OTH, merely because he was an insignificant character and his death did nothing but take attention from Brooke's problems), Owen (OTH, just... 'Blah' in every way), Chase (OTH, boring, self-righteous), Rex Vandecamp (Desperate Housewives, yuck, I hate beleaguered-husband characters/plotlines), Sister Mary (Desperate Housewives, creepy...), Martha Huber/Felicia Tilman (Desperate Housewives)... I don't judge lifestyles, I don't care what goes on behind closed doors(as long as I don't have to hear about it... most times;)). To quote a very good musical: All I care about is love! (If you know the musical, give yourself a pat on the back. I'm impressed:)) Anyway, if it's two men, two women, or a woman and a man, I'm reading anything with love... But I prefer nothing with crass references in sexual situations (mention of smells, or scatological references or vivid detail of any fluids or use of the P word for female anatomy -i have always hated that word and it makes the story sound more like a PentHouse letter, etc, etc, etc). I love odd pairings. That being said there are limits - no incest, no geriatric hot-and-heavy action, no ugly people, examples: Keith Scott and anyone - not a romantic figure I want to think about; love his character on the show though!, ex2. Owen (OTH) and anyone), Mouth and Anyone, Larry David and anyone, etc. and I rarely read fics about the main stars' parents getting it on, ex. Larry Sawyer(OTH) and anyone), Deb and Skillz, julie cooper and luke(the oc)... Fave Books: A Separate Peace, The Fountainhead, The Abuse Excuse, Of Mice and Men, Romeo and Juliet, Lonesome Dove, Dead Man's Walk, Commanche Moon, The Sin Killer, The Wandering Hill, By Sorrow's River, and The Glory and the Folly, A Confederacy of Dunces, Moby Dick, The Tin Can Tree, Earthly Possessions, Treason, Culture Warrior, If Liberals Had Brains, They'd Be Republicans, Dark Side of Liberalism, Liberal Fascism, Shut Up and Sing, Captain Newman MD, The Poisonwood Bible, The Right Mind, Coming To Life, Freakonomics, Complications: A Surgeon's Notes on an Imperfect Science Anyway this isn't NEARLY complete, but it's all I can conjure for now. |
