![]() Author has written 14 stories for Percy Jackson and the Olympians, Midnighters, Sweeney Todd, Les Miserables, and Harry Potter. Hello, I'm Ruby Thorn, as you might have guessed! IMAGE: Christina DeCicco as Eponine. Lovely... A little teeny tiny bit about me. 1. I LOVE ACTING! As an aspiring Broadway actress you have to love it. My favorite play would have to be Les Miserables (obviously) with my favorite character being Eponine. I love her sooooooo much. I adore anything theatre and Broadway related and it just takes over my life and existence. I LOVE IT! 2. I adore Disney movies. I have an odd obsession with it. I'm thinking of posting a Beauty and the Beast FF actually... and I ADORE Disney songs. FAVORITE: Can You Feel the Love Tonight with Kiss the Girl following close behind and... I know this sounds odd... but I love the One Jump Ahead Reprise from Aladdin. But I have to clear one thing up: I HATE ALL THINGS DISNEY CHANNEL! I HATE IT WITH ALL MY BEING! 3. All people I co-write with are actually my friends in real life. I DO NOT CO-WRITE FICS WITH PEOPLE I DO NOT KNOW! A.K.A.- all people I don't know on FFN. And that's all I can think of to say right now... OH YEAH! Favorites: CHARACTERS IN BOOKS/MOVIES/PLAYS: Huckleberry Finn, Eponine, A-rab, Action, Jemima, Phantom of the Opera/ Erik, Rex Greene, Sweeney Todd, Captain Jack Sparrow, Fantine, Javert, Montparnasse, and Claquesous. I like Enjolras sometimes...but other times he just makes me angry. Really don't like Marius, Cosette sometimes gets on my nerves... maybe I'll just make a Les Miserables rant on here... Movies: Phantom of the Opera, Moulin Rouge, Titanic, The Notebook, Tom and Huck, and all things Disney... PLAYS: Les Miserables, Phantom of the Opera, West Side Story Revival 2009, Big River, and Aida. I love the music from Cats although I haven't seen it. I've seen more but those are the ones that had the most impact on me. ARTISTS: Frances Ruffelle and Kaho Shimada when the play Eponine. Gerard Butler's voice as Phantom is sizzling sexy and I really hate Lea Salonga. Escape the Fate, Eowyn, From First to Last, Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, My Chemical Romance, Flyleaf, Evanescence, and lots of other punk rock bands. I LOVE PUNK ROCK AND SHOWTUNES!! Oh yeah, and Sarah Brightman is amazing!! And Christina DeCicco... ACTRESS: CHRISTINA DECICCO!! She is my acting idol! And she rocks my world. I saw her as Eponine and she won an award for that performance. I've seen Les Miserables FOUR TIMES and she was the best by FAR! She made me cry for TWO HOURS STRAIGHT...maybe more. I dunno. But she is completly amazing...and she has a website. I love her so much... BOOKS: PJO, Midnighters, Les Miserables the book, The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn and so many others I can't name them all. But those are my main loves. Oh yeah, and the Inheritance Cycle makes me happy. And I HATE Twilight...HATE IT! ANIME/MANGA: Yes, I read it. I love Death Note, Tsubasa, Naruto and what I've read so far of Bleach. My favorite would have to be Death Note though. Favorite pairing from that book...MattxMello. I'm sorry but I don't like ANY of the female characters and I'm a minor yaoi fangirl. And they're just SO CUTE together. Les Miserables Rant For a starter I'll say that Les Miserables has been part of my lifestyle since I was 3 years old. It was to me what Disney was to other kids (as said before I love Disney and loved it as a child...but Les Miserables was much much more.). I used to not be able to fall asleep at night without having it playing (still do sometimes). My family listened to it every night during dinner, listened to it constantly in the car. I sang a different Les Miserables song to my first grade class everyday for show and tell until I sang 'Lovely Ladies'... that ended right there. I read the book first when I was eight, memorized the musical by the time I was seven... it practically runs through my veins. And before I ramble about characters and plot, I have to say one thing on the topic of musical versus book Eponine. I respect completely that the two are different people entirely, unless the actress and/ or director of the musical can actually pull off crazy, off-the-walls book Eponine. I've only seen that done once on some youtube videos. I personally am a huge fan of book Eponine not only because it's better but also because sometimes the actresses who play musical Eponine make me angry because she becomes way too sure of herself, ok with her status in life, trying to make the most of it. That makes me upset, but only when it's completly over the top. I respect both Eponine interpretations, the book and the musical, and I try to seperate the two from each other... because most times Broadway doesn't go with the book. When on FFN I find it sad when people flame Eponine FF writers because their story doesn't match the books when it does match the musical one. Until recently I hadn't really delved into Eponine's character and my FF's were fluffy musically based, some people just don't know better, or some haven't read the book, or some just like the musical Eponine better. I hold both in high regard and try to seperate the two from each other... just a short ramble on that. On to the characters...! Eponine: Ha ha, obviously my favorite of the bunch! Speaking strictly on book terms, I think her mentally unstableness and what not is absolutly...whats the word im looking for... not hilarious...amusing? Sounds better but not quite there yet... oh well. I find her more appealing and riveting I guess. I'm not saying I think of her as "a hero tragically wrapped in poverties grasps, with a golden heart on the inside and a strong loyalty and devotion to a blind man" blah blah blah. Some of my past FF's may protray her as that, but my views have changed on Eponine's account as I've dived into Les Miserables more then before, detatched myself a bit from the musical to see the light so to speak. Sure, her devotion is lovely i guess, but she is crazy after all. A nutcase. And she does try to kill Marius, in a way. And want to die too... I don't know, just her whole personna and the plot surrounding her makes me happy. And musical Eponine does fulfill some of my Les Miserables desires too... but as I've said before I try to seperate the two. Marius: Hmmm...what to say, what to say. Well I'll be honest I don't like him very much. I think he's a fool and foolish and a bit touched in the head when it comes to Cosette. Sure I believe in love at first sight, but honestly, Marius, what are you thinking? "Hey let's stalk this girl that I love but don't even know her name, age, etc." is kind of very pathetic. And when he gets angry about that garter... pshaw. Stupid boy... one thing I can say about him though is he is very passionate about anything he puts his mind too... like his father, Cosette...blah blah blah. Although I've never really wanted him and Eponine together. I mean, think about it... that's the strangest part of the fandom surrounding Eponine. You respect her love and what not for Marius completly and feel for her when she doesn't get it, but you also never want them to be together because that completly ruins her whole charisma and character... at least that's what I think. Cosette: Love her as a child, not so much as an adult. Yeah, she's sweet and nice and charming and beautiful, but she's kind of touched in the head when it comes to Marius as well. Those two silly fools... you have to kind of respect that kind of creepy love though, even though I don't really like it. This hatred isn't because of Eponine at all, because as I've said before I've never wanted Marius and Eponine together actually, it's just a weird love. But besides the fact that she's mental about Marius, I think her character is kind of lovely. Jean Valjean: I don't really have an opinion on him. I like him a lot because the whole story revolves around him, and he's so nice and Godly and redeeming and I think his story is very touching. But still, he's not on my favorite list. I just don't have an opinion on him... Javert: Love Javert, honestly, love him. He's so... cool. And kind of crazy as well... and I'm sorry to say that the fact that he kills himself just makes him all the better because of the reason why he jumped off the bridge... and the fact that he burns his coat-tails all the time makes me giggle. Love him in the musical as well. Fantine: I love Fantine, I think she's an awesome character. Her devotion to Cosette is great, her sort of love for M. Madeliene. Her crazyness also is kind of awsome... and the scene when she gets arrested because of Bomatabois is spectacular. Musically satisfying too. Enjolras: I like him at some points in the book, despise him in others. It's kind of odd, but some of his logic and actions make me very angry. Like him in the musical though... The Revolution Boys: I don't want to go into every single one of them, just want to say that overall I like their characters and it's really sad when they all die for stupid Enjolras's cause... Patron Minette: Love Patron Minette, especailly Montparnasse and Claquesous. I think Montparnasse is awesome, and probably the most dynamic of the crooks, and Claquesous is just... I dunno... mysterious and dark and shady. I just like them. They need more parts in the musical. Gavroche: Overall I think he's adorable, but let's face it, we all get annoyed with him at some parts of the book. I think he's great in the musical though. Thenardier and Madame Thenardier: They make me very nervous, but overall their characters are okay with me. I don't hate them because I think they're too great a couple of characters to hate, but they do make me nervous I'll say that. And they are creepy, but that's okay. I think they're way different in the musical, but I still like them there too. Azelma: I don't know why but I adore that minor character a lot... And if I forgot anyone It's because I don't really care about them... I think I'm done boring y'all to death. FIN I am currently writing two fanfictions and I have completed one too, and I'm about to post the sequel to that. I have three oneshots and eight poems. Here they are... The Lightning Thief: From Candy Lestrange's View- Join Candy, a punk daughter of Hades, on her way through the realm of Percy Jackson and the Olympians. Watch her fall in love with Percy, go crazy, have insightful visions using her psychic abilities inherited from her lovely mother, and watch as the identity of her friend Kit-Kat is revealed, and I promise it will be revealed in a completly astonishing way! Still working on it...hope it will be done soon! All's Fair In Love and War: A Midnighter's Fanfiction- Join lonely and depressed twelve year old Rex and a curious, powerful yet rough around the edges Melissa as they battle their own lives, powers, and eventually change the life of Rex's dad forever. It had to be done, I love Rex dearly and I had to write this story! Kind of depressing, but good, I guess. Daylight to Midnight- A poem I actually wrote for school about Midnighters, it's about Rex turning halfling and everything. I liked it, so I posted it up here for all of you lovely people to review, though nobody did! All Sweeney Todd poems- Seven Sweeney poems in all, random inspiration came and I grabbed it and used it to my advantage before posting it to you lovely readers! There's You're My Lucy and You're Dead, Rememberance From the Grave (my personal favorite), Loosing My Breath (Love that one too), Finding Lost Bliss, Death Did Us Part, and Marked With Sin. They are either from Lovett or Sweeney's POV and one from Lucy's POV. I am a huge fan of Sweeney/Lucy! Topics range from love to murder...pleasent huh? A Breath Away From Where You Are- A short oneshot about Eponine coming to pick up a angelic Jean Valjean. If it is angsty, I am terribly sorry. It was not meant to be that way, I swear! Spinning- Eponine wasn't at her post when her family was arrested. Where was she?...Letting her imagination create reality. I personally don't think this is my best Eponine fanfiction...GO READ THE PIT OF POVERTY NOW! Tis the best I've EVER written for ANYTHING. The Lost Entries of Harry Potter- Erm...what to say? Basically It's about the spazziest, OOC thing I have ever written in my life... and that's saying something seeing as I'm co-writing Sweeney's Demonic Pizzeria with hazel260. I mean Sweeney? Pizza? What? But this story is just...OOC to the maximum! Basically it's a compilation of notes that are passed between various Harry Potter characters along with some Snape diary entries that show his true side...and that side has Pokemon on it...read the fanfiction for more. Be warned. Be very warned. It's TRES TRES SPAZZY! WARNING: You may roll on the ground with crazy laughter from the randomness of it all. I'm co-writing it with SilverWolfHowlsWithTheWind (try typing that ten times fast) and it's very funny! SO READ! The Pit of Poverty: I kid you not, this is the BEST fan fiction I have EVER written! It took me SIX MONTHS to write and perfect and it is my heart and soul. It's for Les Miserables and it basically takes the two dolls that Young Cosette and Young Eponine owned in their youth and use the lingering symbolic 'pit of poverty' to show how the two girls become the dolls and how their futures are transformed into what they became. I love love love this oneshot with ALL MY BEING and it really is my best so you should check it out! Sweeney Todd's Demonic Pizzeria is going onto my friend hazel260's inventory. I have way too much to write with my Lightning Thief one, so she's taking over, BUT I'M STILL CO-WRITING IT!! And that's all the stories for now! If you want to check out some amazing stories I suggest you read some from SilverWolfHowlsWithTheWind, she has many topics, like me. Also, hazel260 has a really good story called The Runaway out there for Avatar: The Last Airbender (and also that Sweeney Pizzeria thingy...). It's very good. Ta ta for now!! ~Ruby Thorn |
