Author has written 3 stories for Harry Potter, and Twilight. "Books are never finished. They are merely abandoned." -Oscar Wilde Sporadic reader...more sporadic writer...sadly sporadic reviewer... Can't admit to a place...I've lived in so many places now that I really couldn't even claim a language... Addicted to concepts and random mind-binding moments, reluctant heroes and antiheroes, flawed characters, vivid description, attention to detail, religious canon and songs sung at sundown from a fourth story balcony in the Barrio de Santa Cruz in Sevilla. And magic...it's all about magic. If you are on my favorites list, it is because you helped me believe in that magic...thank you. "Fiction is the truth behind the lie, and the truth of this fiction is simple enough: The magic exists." -Stephen King My stories: I've recently been on a reluctant hiatus from all of my fics due to an unforseen batch of wrist breaking--specifically that I broke both of them and couldn't type the whole semester. It was followed closely by a semester filled with disertation defense, a three month trip into, well...territory without internet, we'll say, and the dilemma of figuring out what I'm going to contribute to the real world. I have only now begun to write again. Let's hope I can finish North Star Rising this time! Purgatory: (Twilight) This is my dark story...It tells the tales of the turning of each one of the Cullen family from Edward's point of view. He relives each death as they remember it and, in his obsession to convince himself that they are all damned, he has assigned each of them one of the Seven Deadly sins. Now he relays the stories to Bella one by one. I'm also putting it up in Spanish, translating it slowly but surely for those friends who have asked me to, but that goes slowly...the original gets priority until I finally finish at least one of these things! For Kindle/Nook convenience, I've created a PDF version of Purgatory here: http:///?ncr5cu1uz6120wi North Star Rising: This is my romantic story...It is my alternate Breaking Dawn, begun, not because I didn't like it, but simply because I wasn't patient enough to wait (OK, and continued because...well...aw come on! A fricking kid? REALLY?). It begins after Chapter one of Breaking Dawn. Bella and Edward have earned the eternity that they are planning for, but a series of events that began so long ago in a makeshift baseball field have not been put to rest. An inability to forgive and a series of misunderstandings will bring down a storm that begins and ends with the north. Battlefield is up. This is about where you realize that the story is only half done! The Legacy of Four: (Harry Potter) This is my magic story...It follows Harry one year after the Battle for Hogwarts. The pieces are slowly being picked up, and Harry's moving on when a nightmare and a stab of pain in the usual spot warn him of one Death Eater that they did not succeed in eliminating. It seems someone else had heard of Horcruxes, and she carries with her the greatest secret of all...the reason why the war isn't over. I've severely neglected my poor Harry Potter story given other current obsessions, and I'm sad to say that I have just tried to revisit it and have forgotten the thread for the moment. I'm afraid that I will have to go over this one again, redo it in a way that doesn't seem like a first time fan fic, and then figure out exactly what was happening with those two lockets...I can't believe I wrote something that has actually confused it's own author! Now, please...enjoy a few of those talented folk who can say things immeasurably better than I can... "Not all who wander are lost." -J.R.R. Tolkien Fairy tales do not tell children the dragons exist. Children already know that dragons exist. Fairy tales tell children the dragons can be killed. -G. K. Chesterton "Beauty is not caused--it is." -Emily Dickinson "Do one thing every day that scares you." -Eleanor Roosevelt My favorite... "The most important things are the hardest things to say. They are the things you get ashamed of, because words diminish them - words shrink things that seemed limitless when they were in your head to no more than living size when they're brought out. But it's more than that, isn't it? The most important things lie too close to wherever your secret heart is buried, like landmarks to a treasure your enemies would love to steal away. And you may make revalations that cost you dearly only to have people look at you in a funny way, not understanding what you've said at all, or why you thought it was so important that you almost cried while you were saying it. That's the worst, I think. When the secret stays locked within not for want of a teller, but for want of an understanding ear."- Stephen King |
