Impostor alert:
It has come to my attention that there is someone out there impersonating me. This person has been going around leaving nasty comments on stories, and signing them with my user name.

I only review stories while logged in. I put a lot of effort into each review I write, and I like having that history of reviews in my account. If you have received a review that you thought was written by me, it's only valid if it was logged in. I always, always log in. If it was written anonymously, it's the impostor.

If you happen to see instances of a review by a fake 'Cinpii' (or worse yet, are the recipient of such a horrid review), please direct it towards my attention. Thank you.

To the writers out there:
I find it beyond flattering to see that my works have influenced you guys so much that some of you are using my ideas in your own stories. Let me say this: Please don’t do that. I might have been okay with it before, but now it’s getting out of hand. Using someone’s words and/or ideas and passing them off as your own is considered plagiarism.

Just because this is fanfiction and not “real writing” does not make it permissible to steal my ideas and use them yourself. Yes, stealing. That’s exactly what plagiarism is. If you like my ideas and you want to use them, ask me. I’m nice. I really am. But to use my ideas without my consent or knowledge is wrong.

I’m not an ogre and I'm not asking you to take down your work. Nor am I going to report you to the fanfiction.net authorities and have them blacklist you. All I ask is that you show some writer’s integrity and reference me in your author’s notes. Just a short line saying you’ve been influenced by my works is enough. I’m not demanding homage, just due credit. Giving due credit is what responsible writers do.

I write fanfiction and share it with everyone because I enjoy it, and because I want to foster the RyoSaku fandom. But it really upsets me when writers steal my ideas. It kills the love I have for the fandom, and it kills the muse. Because who wants to write and share something with the public if it’s just going to get stolen? Exactly. So please stop. And if you’ve already written a fic that used my ideas, please reference me in your author’s notes.

I’m sorry to have to post such an ugly topic in my bio, but there are just too many of you guys to personally approach or keep track of.

To the readers:
If you see evidence of plagiarism, don’t keep quiet about it. Plagiarism is being condoned because silence implies consent. No one is saying anything. So speak out if you think it’s happening. This is not carte blanche to sabotage a writer’s reputation, but to do what you think is right.
