Author has written 4 stories for Avatar: Last Airbender. Hey, you guys. I'm Meg, or as my friends call me, "Purplejay". Don't ask. Fandoms I Enjoy Writing For: Avatar: The Last Airbender is no doubt my favorite show ever. Alright. It's over. It's done. But it's still the best animated show I've ever seen, and I'm not about to forget it completely! It might be gone, but what's left are the thousands of fans that loved it and the fanfiction and fanart that brought us together. So I'll keep writing, because I'm not ready to leave this fandom yet (and because I've yet to find a show that trumps this piece of art. Seriously.) Secret Ambitions: Publish a book, achieve some sort of literary accomplishment...? Oh, wait, no, scratch that! My secret ambition is to play Toph in the second Avatar live-action movie! I could pass for a blind Earthbender... who also happens to be twelve... and awesome... Well, yeah. The laughter may commence now. Writing Style: I seem to have a habit of overwriting. For some reason, I don't feel satisfied with my work if I don't cram as much as possible into it. Of course, the end result might not be as exciting, simple, or easy on the eyes as a paraphrased version of it, so the length of my stories are probably something I should watch. Challenges: Oh, action scenes. Definitely not my strong point! I seem to be the kind of writer who goes for the drama rather than the battling, and this is why I'm usually at danger of turning all the scenes of a story into a gigantic mush of emotions. So that's two challenges; undoubtedly, there's many more that I face as a writer. I just have to remember what they are, and hopefully not write myself down a hole if I encounter another! Hey, check Hana Tekashi and 1tomboy out- they're my best friends, and love writing a variety of anime fanfiction. And as for more awesome fanfics, feel free to look through my favorites list- so many authors are extremely talented, and they're totally worth checking out. And thanks so much to Davis 51 for giving me so much helpful critique on my writing. And another special thank you to all my readers and reviewers. If not for you guys, I would've lost motivation a long time ago! Ships of Choice Avatar: The Last Airbender Kataang (Katara/Aang): Undoubtably canon. Set in stone, beautiful, and totally worth the wait. Tokka (Toph/Sokka): You've got to admit, that one-sided crush was adorable. Tophaang (Toph/Aang): (only a little) Hilarious, but touching. A nice match. Maiko (Mai/Zuko): Not the conventional couple, but hey? Who said conventional couples were the only mindblowingly awesome ships around? (Friend)Ships Avatar: The Last Airbender Toko (Toph/Zuko): Because Toph has yet to go on that life-changing field trip with you, Zuko. Zutara (Zuko/Katara): You never expected this from me. But in a friendship way, yes. I like it to that extent! Not-so-Favorite Ships Avatar: The Last Airbender Zutara (Zuko/Katara): No, I am not a rabid Zutara basher. But still, not a big fan of this ship. Jetara (Jet/Katara): Eh, a little upset that Jet died. I still don't like the ship, though. Stuff I Like: - Story updates. They absolutely make my day (and give me an excuse to procrastinate on homework) - Kataang. I think that's fairly obvious. Stuff I'd... Rather Not Spend My Life With: - Zutara, in a romantic sense. - Cliffhangers (and authors not updating). Gosh, my patience level is only this high! (...Yes, Avaleia, you hypocrite you. Get your lazy self to work on TDATD.) - Kataang bashers... finale bashers... Mike and Bryan bashers... - Writer's block. Stories In-Progress The Days After the Darkness 12/19 Update: Chapter 19's up, at long last. Hopefully, it'll suffice for now! Thanks so much for reading and reviewing. Sea Blue Eyes and Windy Skies 10/4 Update: Uhh... wow. I'm so late with this one. I might rush with finishing the prompts, and hey, it's extremely overdue, but I figure I should finish what I started, you know. I've finished two more of the prompts, but I'm somewhat hesitant to post them- it's not my best work, and I wrote them on a whim, so reader, beware of the quality. That's why I figure I'm going to spend some more time revising until I'm satisfied. You can tell that I didn't do my very best with this one, and I feel really guilty about it. Completed The Statue And this is why I need to work on the pacing of my oneshots... but this one, thankfully, is considerably shorter than most of mine! It was one of my earlier attempts at tragedy, and based on that, I think I'm sort of proud of myself for pulling it off. I'm considering on revising the ending a little, just so it doesn't seem rushed. Little Sister How could I resist? The Azula/Zuko sibling relationship is just so... alright, I can't really describe it. Just that last Agni Kai made me reevaluate their relationship, and a thought of Zuko and Azula as children and how that built up to all... this... it really made me realize how tragic that was. They were siblings, and Azula was Zuko's baby sister. I couldn't let go of that, so I wrote it down. (Honestly, though, I have GOT to stop killing the main characters off.) Thinking Of: - Oneshot Kataang/Maiko/Tokka, to atone for annoyed readers of TDATD. Especially Maiko and Kataang shippers. Oh, gosh, do I need to go into a lengthy explanation of how I completely misinterpreted Zuko and Mai's relationship? Anyways, I'd like to get to work on some (hopefully lighthearted) new stories. - Part Three of TDATD. Still got a long way to go. - More stories about Fire Nation childhood. Mai, Zuko, Ty Lee, and Azula were the most adorable and interesting kids ever back then. Oh, the possibilities. - A sequel to "Statue" (thanks, reconrox, for suggesting!) |
