I’ve only finished chapter one and I’m in love. As someone who’s associated my aspects of life to the the four suits in my deck, this story is so intriguing. The idea of having different cards to represent the four element was spectacular. I can tell that this is a good story from the get go. Good on you man.

like I was saying, many people love your writing and we really care about you. The fact that I'm actually here 10 years after the publishing of this story shows how much impact you have on people. The way you write is so unique. The story actually reflects on her life; unfinished but full of potential. Anyhow, rest in peace. I just wanted to say that I have been reading your one shots very often in the past and when I found this (with over 800 comments) I knew I just had to read it. Because of habit, I usually check the last chapter before starting to make sure the story is complete (and the author doesn't break my heart). When I saw your message, I immediately went to live journal and saw the very sad piece of news. My condolences to your family and I hope you are in much better place now. Even though you can't see or hear us, please know that many of us here p

I know that this may seem a little weird just coming out of no where, but I had only recently found your story 'Parlor Tricks', and might I just say, that story has really left an imprint on me. I have completely fallen in love with this story. I love the way that you both captured their character behaviour in the series, but also put a fun twist on how the act around each other-all the flirting and pet names. I know that I am in no place to ask this, but I think that you should maybe continue writing a bit more of the story. I am sure that I am not the only one who thinks the same, I just want you to know that I am by no means trying to put pressure on you to continue writing this story, only that I would be extremely effervescent if you were to possible resume this story.

After having read this entire story from its start, I would like to share my thoughts on it. This is the finest Kataang AU I have ever read. Lyra does such an amazing job of taking these characters and putting them in a setting that most fanfiction writers would never dream of putting them in: the Prohibition era. The creativity to set the story in this time period led to a piece of fanfiction that was truly unique and unlike any other. I have all praise and no complaints for this story. The characters may not have been the same characters from the show simply because of the different lives they have in this story, but they still feel true to the original source material and exhibit the qualities that made fans identify with them in the first place. I love the development of the romance between Aang and Katara; being an avid Kataang shipper I have read much Kataang fanfiction, but this story certainly spins more emotional investment between these two characters than any other. I can confidently declare that this is the only piece of Kataang fanfiction where I have felt the characters and their relationships come just as alive for me as they did in the show. I love the large city setting of this story, and I love the touches that make it seem all the more faithful to its Prohibition-era inspiration, such as the jazz age slang (I think I'm going to add the word "copacetic" to my permanent vocabulary). I love the parallels to the show and the clever ways that Lyra has incorporated some of the more unlikely episodes for the setting (I especially loved the Cave of Two Lovers taking place in a closet). Various other touches, such as Sokka's "boomerang" being an M1911 pistol with a powerful recoil and Appa being a large sheepdog, simply add to the delight that comes from reading this story.

I am truly saddened to hear that Lyralocke passed away; she has created a story that has struck a chord with many readers such as myself. This story demonstrates that she had great potential in her endeavours, and the world is a darker place now that her potential has been cut short.

I remember reading this story back in 2010, when I was 14 years old. I also remember crying when I found out Lyralocke had passed away. This story has a special place in my heart.
I think the fact that it's unfinished even reflects her life. - I didn't know her, but her writing was lively and wonderful, and I could tell she was such a beautiful person - and her book was not completed. However, I also believe you can find peace with the unfinished.

Rest in peace still, Lyra.

I'm sorry you won't be writing anymore- I really enjoyed your story, even if I'm enjoying it 5 years after you've said you won't be writing it. However, if you ever find the inspiration or the need to come back and finish this- please do. :D Your story is fantastic.

Brooooooo, you should finish the series... Pleeeeaaaassssseeeee. For me? Hahaha anyways, this is one of the best Kataang stories I have ever read and I wasn't really into the AU stories at first, but this one is fantastic. You should really think about continuing this storie with a little more twists and turns for the Kataang relationship. But I think that you should, unlike the series, add some more battles before Aang defeats Boss Ozai, or however you want to end it. Anyways, GREAT STORY, HOPE TO SEE MORE CHAPTERS:) (;

Lyra you were awesome and all of your stories are amazing i am deeply saddened to hear that you aren't with us anymore , and though i never met you i will miss you deeply .
