Author has written 12 stories for Avatar: Last Airbender. Update 21/07/08: Watched the finale. I actually liked the Ozai wrapup and the Az breakdown but the lack of closure/ Ursa/ anything really tore me up. It just seems that 15 minutes was missing from the end- I'm sure that an entire episode of wrapups prolly wouldn't be profitable but it's kind of ruining the whole season for me. When watching a show it's nice to feel that the writers really understand the characters they've created- otherwise you just feel like a complete jackass making something out of something that wasn't even there to begin with. The finale wrapup was supposed to give a clear indication that they didn't think of Azula/Mai/Ty Lee as meaningless evil characters but they refused to even fail. What that, likely meaningless, bunch of words means for anyone reading this is that I'll either slink away forever or get down to some heavy character analysis in the colourful and largely entertaining form of character angst, fighting, crying and appropriatly failing to learn life lessons. It's an either or, a toss of the coin. Very much judge a story's success based on the number of Favs/Alerts(even to completed fics, I wont think you're crazy) instead of reviews, ever since looking at 20 "Great story" reviews for a 2 page block Transformers semi-porn story/ script I've tended to mistrust the overall validity of reviews in general. That being said reviews that contain specific criticisms, favourite lines, reasons for liking, requests for fleshing out or cutting specific sections are very much desired and celebrated when gotten. I'm from the land down under, where people ride kangeroos for petrol conservation purposes, so I'm not sure how annoying seeing honour instead of honor is to what I assume are my main readership- if it is (annoying) then I'm sorry, personally I never even notice the different spelling anymore. (Internal Conflict) Have accepted the problems with the story and decided to call it a unique 'style' and ignore them. (Banishment) Gone about as far as it'll go. 'Right and Wrong' will continue the storyline towards an argueably adequete resolution (where hopefully the characters will learn valuable life lessons- allowing the readers to also reflect on the importance of friendship and kindness or othersuch nonesense). |
