Elizabeth Lourdes Espinoza The story of this young woman begins with her mother, Fahima Zawass. Fahima grew up in a Bedouin tribe and was renowned for her beauty and intelligence. Tiring of the slow traditional life of her tribe, Fahima left to attend school in Granada, Spain. There, she met Quaterine, the future Mrs. Winner, and fell in love with Alejandro Espinoza, whom she married. Fahima and Mrs. Winner became best friends, and remained close after their marriages. Elizabeth was a miracle baby, born over twenty years after Fahima’s two miscarriages and subsequent surrender to being considered “barren”. From the very beginning of her life, she was intended for the Winner heir, Quatre. The two children grew up together and were very close. Their betrothal papers were signed when they were both 11. Unfortunately that same year Eliza’s parents were killed in a shuttle accident. She was left under the guardianship of her mother’s sister, Tanefer Zawass. Tanefer, a bitter old spinster, had secretly betrothed Eliza soon after the girl turned 6, as a way to punish Fahima for leaving the tribe and marrying a foreigner. Eliza’s betrothal contract to Quatre was null and void. After her parent’s death, Eliza was sent to Earth and married. Her husband, fifty year old Batul al Aziz, never consummated the marriage. He died of heart failure a year and a half after the wedding. Eliza escaped her tribe at the first opportunity and joined a traveling dance troupe, but never forgot her best friend and intended. Abigail Sophia Chandler Abby Chandler, aka Aurora, is a telepath that can absorb aural energy and project it in the form of high energy beams from her hands. She can read auras in a more advanced way than any other human, able to discern a person's character as well as emotions. Abby absorbs emotional energy and uses it for strength or for projectiles, so in battle she tries to enrage her opponents as much as possible. The angrier they get, the stronger she becomes. Abby is from an alternate reality, where mutants possesing the X-Gene do not exist. She gained her abilities after being injected with her uncle's cure for a mutated form of a virus that leaked in to her earth from another reality. Of the 45 people infected with the virus on Abby's earth, only she and her best friend, Sarah Da Rosa, survived, thanks to Icarius Chandler's medicine. Icarius became Abby's guardian after his brother and sister in law drowned at sea. After Abby and Sarah's powers manifested, he used state of the art technology to find a reality that could teach them how to use their powers. What he found was Xavier's Institute for Gifted Youngsters. Abby is a very mature young woman with a motherly nature. She looks after the younger memebers of the X-Men and New Mutants, and her hypersensitivity to emotions make her a natural confidante. Loyal, trustworthy and wise, Abby makes a valuable addition to the X-Men. Sarah Da Rosa Soft spoken and gentle, Sarah Da Rosa charms people with her kindess and beauty. Aka Circe after the Greek goddess of the sea (correct me on this), she can control any and all liquids that contain at least 10 water. Recently, she learned how to condense the moisture in the atmosphere to form projectiles, much like Iceman can. Sarah, like her best friend Abby, comes from another reality. Her father died before she was born, and her Lebanese mother brought her up speaking both parent's languages. Intelligent and graceful, Sarah loves to read and bellydance. She fell in love with the X-Men's reality, and with Roberto Da Costa, a fellow Brazilian and New Mutant. |
