Looking back on the List and how it went for all involved, I have to recant my review of Chapter 7. It was and is brilliant, but I realized a final option available to the Professor...

If the Professor didn't mind another Douglas Adams reference, he could have built his own version of "Outside the Asylum" elsewhere on the Institute grounds.

This would have been a inside out building whose outer walls would be like movie sets for the furnishings with a central rest/play area with lawn, maybe a tree or two, a garden, and a clear roof with sprinklers so the plants did well.

Where the instructions for how to use a toothpick were posted in *So Long, and Thanks for all the Fish*, the list would be placed, for the same purpose. Wonko the Sane built Outside The Asylum in Adams' book to exclude himself from the madness that was the world around him.

I think you can see Professor Xavier coming to the same conclusion.
