Hi, I'm SapphyTheElf (technofearheavy over at LiveJournal) and welcome to my profile!

I've decided to cut the crap. So, a bit about me:

English. University student. 20 years old.

I like reading - classics, modern stuff, whatever. I especially love kids'/teen books (they're so much more imaginative and original than most adult books). Favourites include gothic novels, The Dreamhunter Duet, Mortal Engines series, Thursday Next books and the Nursery Crime Series, Sabriel, Lirael and Abhorsen, Enid Blyton books, Chalet School, Nancy Drew, Babysitters Club, LOTR, Harry Potter, Atonement, The Woman In White, Pride and Prejudice, and Northanger Abbey. I also find the Twilight books HILARIOUSLY so bad they're good!

I also like selected animes/manga: Beyblade, Cardcaptor Sakura, Digimon, Gakuen Heaven, Gravitation, The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, Ouran High School Host Club, Princess Princess, Sukisho and Yu-Gi-Oh.

Cheesy music is a winner, although most music floats my boat.

Laughing is one of my many joys in life. I love comedy shows and parodies, and of course my mental friends.

My ultimate aim is to keep writing as a hobby, and go into publishing. Therefore, I would generally be happy to beta fics for anyone who messages me. I don't pretend to know everything, but I'm a complete spelling and grammar obsessive! There's nothing that turns me off a fic faster than repeatedly bad spelling, or horrendous grammar.

Writing status

Oh, just to let you know why I've been a bit silent on the whole fanfiction/general internet front. Basically, my degree takes up a lot of my time, as it involves far too many essays, and two languages to learn from scratch. Plus I do lots of extra-curriculars and go out with my friends too much. What can I say, I'm a uni student. I'm also a great procrastinator. Perhaps the summer will permit me some fanfic writing fun times.

I also looked back at some of my old fics, and would really like to get around to improving them at some point. Especially Taking Risks (as the structure went psycho) and The Drinking Contest - I rushed to get it ready, and there's so many other places I could have taken it. We'll see.
