![]() Author has written 34 stories for Stargate: Atlantis, and Stargate: SG-1. I'm a part-time piano teacher with three children, currently 14, 12 and 9. I rediscovered Stargate in 2018, when I was trying to find something other than Dr Who for my older daughter to watch! Since then, together we've watched all ten series of SG-1 and all five of Atlantis, which I'd never seen before and love. I started to write fanfiction after I discovered the cancer I had nearly five years ago had spread to my liver, which sounds really depressing; well it is, isn't it? But anyway, I'm finding that being able to disappear into a complete fantasy world really helps. It helped me through chemo and the recovery from surgery last year, and is an essential distraction from my three-monthly scans. I write almost continuously so that I always have a world to go to and I enjoy living in the worlds I create. I try to keep true to the characters and sometimes I feel like they write themselves; if you put them in a situation they just run with it! Writing gives me joy and excitement every day and I'm very thankful for that. I'm very grateful to all my wonderful reviewers. It's lovely to think that other people inhabit my worlds and enjoy the situations and characters I invent. Your words mean a lot to me. Thank you. Update 21/8/20: I had my latest batch of cancer 'microwaved' successfully, so I can forget about it (ha, ha) til my next scan at the end of September. I hope you enjoyed Wraith Hotel 2, my hospital-inspired 'Touch' and the antics of Zephyr and Frostvine in 'Fit for a Queen'. Still in Wraithy mood, I'm working on a story that will probably be called 'Interviews with the space vampire', in which Todd and John chat about this, that and the other. I still have my sequel to Emerald Isle planned, although the basic mechanics of the story aren't behaving themselves at the moment - I'm sure it'll work itself out. I'm also, in the interests of challenging myself (I like a challenge!) dipping my toes in the murky waters of 'Mcshep', but that one's going to have to go just on AO3, I think, because, well, I have to admit, that, after a lot of excruciatingly awkward shuffling embarrassment on the part of my favourite characters, things may get a little heated. My fanart (from pastels, to Lego, to cake, to Feltlantis) is also on Archive Of Our Own, including some little wraithling Todds just posted today. Please have a look! My user name is Salchat there too. |
