What if Thatch had found the Yami Yami fruit two years earlier? Instead of being killed by Black Beard he ends up kidnapped, along with a certain flame user's little brother. Still distrustful of his new crew Ace is reluctant to ask for help. Through his efforts to save Luffy the Whitebeard crew gets a better understanding of who Ace is and what he's willing to do for family.

The line that differentiates human from object appears to be clear, but sometimes it blurs to the point where it is impossible to tell where one ends and the other begins.

When 13 year old Trafalgar Law got caught by the marines after just escaping Doflamingo's grasp, he didn't expect to get dropped off with a group of bandits in East Blue. Sabo has grown used to his best friend sneaking into his apartment through the window. The ASL pirates are used to being accused of crimes they didn't commit. But when they're accused of destroying a small village in the New World, it sends them hurtling toward a deadly confrontation with the strongest man in the world, Whitebeard. The results are not what they were expecting.

"Hey… If you ate a devil fruit does that make you a monster? Or a freak? Or is it just me?" Still no reply. "I think it might be just me." He whispered into what felt like emptiness despite being surrounded by heat and presence.

Koala earns her new partner's trust and watches him get stabbed, cut himself open, and break his own heart. Just because it's necessary doesn't mean it doesn't hurt.

That time Sabo pickpocketed a Marine, got kinda arrested (but it was only pretend! really!), asked some questions, got some answers, and broke a door. What's a bit of amnesia in the face of family?

Whitebeard is very pleased with his decisions, his family adore their new Commander, everyone is happy and Ace feels really bad about that.

Ace grips the old lady's arm, holding it steady. She wraps her free hand around his wrist and looks up at him with eyes that burn like the house behind them. "You're a liar and you gave me an empty promise," she says, "so I give you this curse in return: to thine self be true."

Marco nods. "Having had the Scrawl means that if Ace is sick, he'll be covered in ink till he's better, yoi. It's all stuff people will have said about him to his face, isn't it?" (Now with small ASL and amnesia!Sabo!)

Luffy isn't happy to be left with mountain bandits. The bandits aren't happy either. Four years old Ace is curious, though, because it's something new. Luffy is decidedly more happy to find that he gets to be a big brother. The world kind of doesn't know what hit it. -Age Reversal AU. Big Brother Luffy.-

Thatch is a pretty nice guy, you know? He works hard on things that make people smile, like food or flowers. So when some teenager blatantly commits grand theft botany, it's up to Thatch to avenge his garden! Except, turns out he wanted the flowers for his best girl, and Thatch can't exactly begrudge him that...

The lines between mythos and humans were very clear cut, and Marco liked it that way. Now, in the silence of his room, his prison, Sabo ached for the noise. He ached for Luffy's whining protests when he realized it was bedtime and not second dinnertime. Ace's teasing, or the way Ace would loudly protest compliments and affection like it fooled anyone into believing he didn't like hearing it. The Straw Hats are not cruel. Some things are simply unforgivable. Set after the two-year separation.

Moby Dick is anything but peaceful on a regular day. The crew is just well used to their special brand of crazy, however. So when an unexpected guest arrives, it throws everyone into disorder. Really, where the hell is this cheeky brat's crew? Someone needs to tell Ace that his ship-brothers are NOT babysitters!

In which Luffy can't find his hat, Ace is on his brother's ship, and Sabo is very confused. -Kinda self-indulgent. No ships. Pre-Saobody. Massive Sabo-related spoilers, up to Chapter 794. The sole purpose of this is to get the ASL trio together while they're all alive and have them be happy, and also entertain myself while doing that. Which means swaps. Rated T for cursing.
