He wasn't quite sure how they'd landed up like this, but the once-full bottle of Jack lying empty on the floor of Carol's cell probably had something to do it…not that he was complaining. One minute they'd been passing the drink back and forth and the next thing he knew her tongue was in his mouth and her hands were tearing the clothes off his back.

My entry for the Writer's Challenge, A Brother's Grief. I loved the idea for this challenge simply because I think a lot of people have lost site of who these character really are at their core. Deep, traumatized, scarred... There was a reason we fell in love with the characters and it had nothing to do with smut. So, they have genitalia. It's been established. They go beyond that.

No one is quite sure how much time has passed since the fall of the prison. All they know is the reality of always moving on, always surviving, whatever cost it might bring. At least they mostly found each other, but for those they've lost along the way, there is a chasm that can barely be filled. Caryl story.

There was the matter of him never having really been with a woman. And the matter of him not knowing anything but what he needed and how it pained him. And the hope he had, that he would not hurt her, that she would not think of Ed or anything else painful. At least not while it was happening.

He had caught her staring at his lap during lunch. For as pleased as his lap had been, it was way off for her. She never let herself slip like that. Worse yet, if she was that far out of line with him, where might she go staring next, and who else's lap would be happy to see her?

A heady flush of pleasure and anticipation stole across her skin as he started to relax, his long day of hunting finally seeming to catch up with him as thin streams of warm water beaded down the jut of his hips. She adored him like this, in the scant moments before the mask started to dissolve - when he finally let his guard down and allowed himself to just sit back and enjoy it.
