Had left some comments as 'suzukafan', then changed name to something more accurate than whimsical. Account originally created so I could save favorites and subscribe to stories. I've got some fics I'm working on, but since I'm *really* new to writing fiction, I'm incubating them before sharing. Current plan includes three related cycles: Conversations With Lindy: Lindy Harlaown as a perspective on the Three Aces and Midchildan culture The Awakening of Hayate Yagami: What happens when someone with absolute power over 5 people (including Rein Zwei) hits puberty? And what do the people think about it? More about the emotions than outright porn. Probably. The Ivory Takamachi Files: Vivio's granddaughter (original character, duh) as a perspective on a much older Hayate and future Dimensional Union successor to the Dimensional Administration Bureau (arguably the more accurate name for TSAB.) Pretty sure Ivory will not come across as a Mary Sue. I make no such promises about Hayate. :) Plus a couple of interviews with or hit pieces on the Three Aces, that don't shoehorn easily into the above. And a totally unrelated Frozen thing I might get back to. I actually have some text for most of these, I just don't like the results or completeness yet. It's not total vaporware. Ships: Nano/Fate, monogamous. Hayate/Wolkenritter/others -- or Hayate/porous personal boundaries. Themes: more slice of life than A New Enemy Appears; ViViD with less lolicon rather than Force. Stealing from Immatrael/Aleph's Game Theory for worldbuilding ideas. Probably first person POV so you can suffer in confusion with the POV when two other characters communicate telepathically rudely. Definitely lots of telepathy regardless of POV: the idea of two levels of conversation going on at once is catnip to me. The Aces being happy and functional but showing their scars or abnormalities, ranging across "weird", "traumatized but healing", and "are we sure she's still human and not some alien thing?" Midchilda as an idealistic society that overlaps with but also differs from modern liberal/progressivism in uncomfortable ways: yes, magical Star Fleet; yes, a penal system that would make Norway or Switzerland feel crude and barbaric; yes, child/teen soldiers and a low (if any) age of consent. We'd see them as endangering innocence, they'd see us as infantilizing and failing to cultivate responsibility. On some fics I've liked: I liked the worldbuilding of Game Theory a lot; it's been too long to be sure of my opinion of the writing or characters. I've liked the character studies of NGTM-R's trilogy (In The Service, A Numbered Existence, Life After Hayate). I love Moczo's Ready, Sette, Go! The Shadowverse/VivioLu stories had some nice elements, even if I thought the Shadows were way too dark and the 18 age of consent absurd for Midchilda. |
