Author has written 4 stories for Mass Effect. Why do profiles seem harder to write than stories? Because they come close to ourselves? Are a bit personal? I don't know. All I know is, it's hard. Very hard. What do you want to know about me? Why would you want to know that about me? Why do you even care? Or do you, like me, enjoy these small peeks into another person's life, these tiny representations of possible realities? Don't we all like to steal glances while remaining in the shadows ourselves? That's probably why profiles are so hard to write. We're stepping out of the shadows and into the light. Where everybody can see. Where we're vulnerable to some extent. Let me try to tell you something about myself. When I made my profile here several years ago, I had just started my PhD. Now, it's nearly finished. I'm passionate about the color green, animals, reading books, but also writing them, and finding ways to make our planet a more sustainable place to live in. I strongly believe in a green and clean future, although I'm sceptical regarding humanity's progress to get there. I try to contribute in my own way, both through my job and the personal choices I make. I've also always loved being around animals. I'm a personal butler/slave/petter to a cat and companion/mate to a dog. Strangely enough, these roles do not give me an identity crisis. ;-) I do volunteer work for an organization that gives abandoned pets a new home and I also train dogs as a hobby. I love the purity of animal language. One just has to learn how to listen. So, tell me, was this really interesting? Regarding FanFiction I started reading and writing fanfiction due to my appreciation for the Mass Effect franchise. My first fanfic ever, Check, mate! is a Mass Effect story with a Fem!Shep x Traynor pairing. I've tried to make it humorous here and there but, above all, also show that both women have their own past with their own vulnerabilities and insecurities. The question is whether they can overcome those, or maybe accept them in one another, to eventually be together. 10 Things Shepard Just Can't Do is just a story that's become necessary as an outlet whenever my mind becomes giggly. It's meant to be funny, nothing more. No harm in having fun, right? Exit, Pursued by a Bear is an ambitious AU project that is currently on hiatus. So is Bonded, although that is much less ambitious yet more dark. I'm currently finding it very hard to keep writing in the Mass Effect genre due to the absence of new official content. Perhaps after Andromeda comes out I'll be inspired again to venture back into space. For now, I'm enjoying reading other people's Rizzoli & Isles stories, and perhaps I'll write one of my own as well. As a writer I appreciate any reviews and constructive criticism. As a reader I try to leave a review any time I read an interesting story. Sometimes I can't seem to get around it, but I honestly do try. I also have a beta profile, so if you're looking for one, please feel free to send me a PM. |
