Author has written 4 stories for Merlin. So I was on this site five years ago when I was fourteen. My account was Lear's Fool, and if I remember my password to that one I'll go back in and delete it, possibly, or just say, hey! Come check out what I'm writing now! Sorry. Anyhow, in case you were wondering: I'm a college student, a girl, and I came back to this site because one of my friends got me started watching Merlin and it's exactly the kind of thing that inspires fanfiction in me...never thought I'd be such a nerd ever again, but I come on here every night to read Merlin stuff. I'm also sitting down a lot more because I broke my ankle in January and it healed wrong so I still have til mid-May (in theory) before I can walk without my crutches again, so that gives me more time to write since I can't go out dancing with my friends and drinking on my pain meds. Woe is me. Okay, enough of that. Since I'll probably be writing mostly Merlin stuff, I figured I'd talk about my favorite and least favorite pairings: I'm a hardcore Arwen shipper, I'm head over heels for Angel Coulby's Gwen and I wish they gave her more scenes outside the romance, but her scenes with Bradley James's Arthur always make my inner gooey romantic go :DDD ..sorry, I think I sometimes speak in code without meaning to. I also like Gwen with Lancelot, wish they did more with Santiago Cabrera, he's interesting. For whatever reason, I'm not a huge Merthur fan, although there's too many good Merthur fics out there for me to refuse to read them at all. I don't know if it's my Arwen love getting in the way, but I think it's mostly about how interesting I think Merlin and Arthur are as best friends. They have such a complicated relationship already, and they're already stuck together, because of the destiny thing, whether they like it or not. Adding a romance to that just feels like overload to me. Now, that being said, Merwaine is a completely different story...I love Merlin and Gwaine stories, they're so hot and I think Eoin Macken's Gwaine can't help but love Colin Morgan's Merlin just a little bit. Mergana is another one I'm super fascinated by--Colin and Katie McGrath always have so many emotional layers in their scenes and come one, he's her "destiny and doom," of course something's there. Physically, also, those two look awesome together. Morgwaine, can't help it. Those couple scenes at the end of season four were wayy too interesting for me not to want to expand on (obviously) and I'm having a blast figuring them out. I don't know what the term for Morgana/Morgause is, but I like that one lots too. I can't see those two as sisters for some reason, they definitely had a different kind of chemistry and I so wish we got to see more of them together doing things other than plotting. The only pairing I really can't stand is Armor. I don't even have a great excuse, something about that one always seemed wrong for some reason. Not because of the incest, just because I think those two don't have that kind of chemistry at all, and they're so much more fascinating as brother and sister for me. Kinda like my Merthur dislike. I'm definitely planning on writing some stories on my other favorite characters who I think get overlooked a little: Elyan (Adetomiwa Edun is a gorgeous boy with one of the sexiest voices alive, and I'm thinking of doing a story about him and Gwen, maybe a one-shot) Gaius (Reeeeally interested in his side of the Great Purge and why he betrayed so many, might look into that) Elena (She. Was. So. CUTE I've gotta bring her back...possibly with one of the knights) and Uther (God, I hate him so much on the show, but I'm always interested in him, especially what the fuck went on around the time of Arthur's birth because if you think of that timeline and when Morgana was born and why Morgause had to be killed or hidden, it's really weird and confusing and there's lots of story potential there) and Morgause (kind of like Uther, I want to know more about her) God, I love being this much of a nerd again, even if my roommates give me shit for it. Looking forward to writing lots for you guys!! Cheers. -Baje |
