![]() Author has written 20 stories for Firefly, Glee, Incredible Hulk, Major Crimes, and Schitt's Creek. January 2020 So a couple of developments to report. I finally did my Firefly rewatch (that show really holds up well!) and have started working on "The Tam Letters" again. I do plan to post it on after all, once it's all done. Plus I've really gotten into the show Schitt's Creek and written a few humorous one-shots for that. I think 2020 is going to be a good year. Ella January 2018: I'm trying to get back to writing but am depressingly rusty. Just doing a fluffy Glee piece for now while I think deep thoughts about my WIP Firefly story "Holier Than Thou." If you review, please be kind. January 2016: I'm excited to be writing again. I have a Glee/The Flash crossover in mind, but meantime I'm going back (or coming home - depending how you look at it) to Firefly. There won't be any updates on "Holier Than Thou" for a while, yet. I've got to rethink and rework that story a bit. But I've got a Simon and River story poking along at AO3 (The Tam Letters). It's not being posted here because FF doesn't support the format I need. Not trying to knock FF, but ya gotta give us authors more options, am I right? By the way, if you just wandered over here after reading one of my Glee stories but have never seen Firefly, go watch! It's a fantastic show that grabs you by the Browncoat and doesn't let go. Ella July 2013: Wow, another year has come and gone. I managed to post only two chapters for "Holier Than Thou" this year, which makes me sad. But I'm not giving up just yet. In fact, I'm about to embark on a 'Firefly' rewatch so I can recapture Wash and Jayne's voices. 'Glee' (the show) got so bad it drove me away about 18 months ago, but I still read some of the fic. I'm looking for a new fandom to get enthusiastic about and friends have made some excellent suggestions, including Sherlock and Dr. Who. I've gotten into two new shows - 'Major Crimes' and 'Ripper Street', but not in a way that motivates me to write for them. I guess writing-wise I'm adrift at the moment. Oh, inspiration, why must you be so coy! Ella July 2012: To FIREFLY Readers: You're not going to believe it, but I am returning to my WIP "Holier Than Thou." Wash and Jayne will not be abandoned to their fate at Winterset Abbey. So yes, future chapters will be forthcoming. I appreciate your patience! Ella January 2011: 2010 will go down in history as the year fan fiction took over my life. What a great year! Nine stories and one poem - who would have ever imagined? I blame the Firefly fandom for starting me off on this crazy fan fiction journey, and it's all Glee's fault that I keep going. Who knows what fandom will be next in 2011? But I'm not complaining! My little literary ventures have brightened my life to a ridiculous degree, and I am having a great time corresponding with authors from all over the world about stories and characters and the art and craft of writing. A big thank you to everyone for reading, enjoying and reviewing my stuff, particularly given that most of it is chock-a-block full of angst and character introspection. Bonus points to those who think I'm witty or funny - that's my favorite compliment, as my family only considers me occasionally witty and no one thinks I'm funny. Despite being a lawyer, I'm actually a quite nice person, and will always send prompt and sincere 'thank you' emails to people who review, favor and alert my stories. I try to return the favor to fellow authors, particularly if they write in fandoms that are familiar to me. I wouldn't go so far as to say that I'm in it for the reviews. In truth I think I'm in it for the chance to plumb the dark and messy depths of the human psyche without the pressure of creating original characters, and to dish out a little snark along the way. But reviews sure do help keep my spirits up, so please don't be shy with the feedback. Happy writing! Ella |
