About Me: You can call me Foster. Whether that's really my name is for me to know and you to wonder. My hobbies are simple: writing, reviewing, and watching films; cooking; and reading. I admire nature at a distance and my idea of exercise is turning pages in a book. I enjoy any well done movie or well written book. In addition to being a die-hard Trekkie, I'm also a film addict and proud of it. I currently own and operate an amateur production company with my twin sister who is known on this site as ComicalEpiphanies, nee ComicNerd. We specialize in documentaries and promotional films for nonprofit organizations, although we have done some fiction. But I prefer writing to filmmaking. I aspire to be a columnist and resident film critic for a newspaper, but no luck yet. In the meantime, I write poetry and dream. I also enjoy editing other writers' work. About My Poetry: As you can see below, I write a lot of poetry. Most of my work is characterization. It's my way of digging deeper into a character to determine motivation or emotion. It helps me see them more as--for lack of a better word--human. My poems usually have a set stanza length with varying patterns despite how hard I try to avoid them. They are all written in iambic pentamiter. Syllable count and repetition are a big thing for me too. Any other special aspects of the poem I'll usually point out in the author's note. Not too much though. What's the fun of reading poetry if you don't get to analyze it? For the most part, you do not have to have any background on the characters themselves since I try to avoid names and stick mostly to metaphors. Keep in mind though that it may explain some things.

About My Stories: I tend to write one-shots with no real plot. Like my poetry, for the most part they're just insight into a character. I don't write many stories mostly because I have problems getting a plot down even if I have no shortage of ideas. Most of my ideas come from plot holes in a story or I just really like a character. I am distracted easily, hence my "Bipartisanship" hiatus. Almost all of my stories also have an imbedded film quote. Often times they are from a different film/TV show than the fandom for which I'm writing. Kudos if you can find it and name the character and film it's from. I also co-wrote a "Supernatural" story with ComicNerd called "Television Legends". It's on her profile if you're interested. It's a humor/parody filled with sibling jibes.

About Reviews: I only review if I have something meaningful to say. I also make a point of only saying good things. If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all, right? Yeah, I know the review window suggests leaving healthy criticism, but who wants their mistakes pointed out where they can't delete them? I know it's too much to hope for that the people who read my stories do the same and I know my stories are far from perfect, but if at all possible, would you consider sending me a PM not a review if you find an error? That way I can fix it and nobody needs to know. What do you say, do we have a deal?

About "Bipartisanship": I have finished Part 3, but I am not really satisfied with it, ergo the lack of update. I am really sorry. I figure quality is more important that timeliness anyway, right?

Please Note: Although my stories (and poems) may be marked complete, I will often go back and edit. Nothing major, usually just grammar and the like. Sorry, I'm a perfectionist. Because this is the case, feel free to tell me if I have made any mistakes in my writing and I will happily correct them.

Requests: My first request is that you do not review my poems with word corrections unless it is an obvious typo like "needles" instead of "needless." (I still can't believe no one caught that.) There is nothing I hate more, mostly because people who do that don't understand the poem. I choose words for a reason. Would you tell someone like Van Gogh to change his blue sky red in "A Starry Night" just because it would make it spookier? (You should say no.) Not that I'm comparing myself to Van Gogh--I don't do well with paint--but the moral still stands. My second request is that you do not favorite one of my stories without a review. Don't get me wrong, I love it when you favorite and I assume that means you enjoyed it, but it is always nice to be praised. You are, however, free to alert me or my stories without a review.

Second Account: My sister and I have finally decided to create a joint account where we will publish all of our collaborated works. I have moved our Horatio Hornblower fic, "Fear", to that account. With any luck, I will also be able to convince my sister to move our Supernatural story, "Television Legends", there as well. If you are interested in reading those stories, the name is ModernNerd. FictionPress Account: I've finally made one! It's under the same username as this: ModernScribe. On it, you'll find a few of my more humorous stuff, mostly narratives based on some of my more amusing memories.
