Is it funny that I hate writing profiles? On a writing website? Huh. Probably.

Anyway, I'm Monarch. I am a butterfly that lives on the moon. Actually, none of those things are true, but call me Monarch anyway. The obvious reason being that I like butterflies. So, yeah, I'm 20 years old, and I am a girl, in case that wasn't obvious from the Loki fangirling in all of my stories... and if you haven't read them yet, go and see what I'm talking about!

I'm being weird right now, you'll have to excuse me. Anyway, my hobbies are reading, writing, drawing, piano, playing video games, bicycling, and watching Netflix with my momma! =3 I also like to watch anime, as long as it's not generic. My favorite anime is Yu Yu Hakusho, and my favorite video game is ICO! ICO broke my freaking life... in all the right ways. I'm also a fan of the Fire Emblem series, Paper Mario, Pikmin, Luigi's Mansion, and the Tales series.

I'm also a Marvel girl, and like a lot of you, I have a gaping hole in my feels regarding Loki. So much sympathy, such good acting. TELL ME how he's such a good actor. =D Also, more recently, Bucky. No, I don't just like them because they're gorgeous! (But they are.) They just illicit my sympathy, and I want to hug them.

On a more literary note, I'm a big fan of bookending (props to Beth Nottingham for familiarizing me with this word!), which is when something is repeated at both the beginning and ending of a story or scene, and it takes on all new meaning the second time. A literary device that I DO NOT like, is the "It was all a dream" ending! OH, SO ANNOYING! Cop out! I call cop out! I'm also not a fan of college humor or unnecessarily detailed smut and gore. I feel that there's a lot to be said for someone who can imply that these things are happening, without horrifying you or making it awkward to watch with your mom...

If you still care to know more about me, I like rock music mostly. My favorites are Linkin Park (ignoring the new dubstep album. Because, honestly? No.), Three Days Grace, Imagine Dragons (the mini-hipster inside me hates that they're so popular, but she's not strong enough to turn me away XD), and Poets of the Fall! If you haven't heard of these guys, look them up RIGHT NOW and listen to Carnival of Rust, Beautiful Ones, or The Poet and the Muse! If you're anything like me, you'll never look back. =D

My favorite movies are classic Disney, lots of (but not all) Marvel movies, The Count of Monte Cristo, Push (2009), I Am Number Four, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory (Gene Wilder kicks Johnny Depp's ass), and Miss Potter (if you're in the mood for some heavy feels).

Favorite Books: Brody's Ghost series, The Outsiders (fair warning: you will be bawling like a toddler), and the Mistmantle Chronicles (deceptively awesome).

Favorite TV Shows: Heroes, Prison Break, and Awake. Honorable mentions to Once Upon a Time, Sherlock (my Moriarty T_T), and Lie to Me, all three of which disappointed me in their later seasons, but were initially quite good.
