Author has written 3 stories for Charles Dickens. Charlene Bates. The name says it all. That is, if you have read Oliver Twist. Charley Bates (my namesake) loves to laugh. He never really stops (outside of at depressing times - poor Dodger sob). I love to laugh and never seem to stop. Something important that I would like EVERYONE to read and check out: My Jack Wild fan site at http:// Stories that I intend to write in the future: 1) Title: (?)/ Summary: Fagin is separated from the daughter he loves. Later, he finds her and attempts to raise her. (There is a bit of a surprise in this one.)/ Main Characters: Fagin, Nancy, Bill Sikes, Bet, and possibly the rest of "the Fagin gang". (Based on Oliver Twist) 2) Title: Having Reviewed the Situation.../ Summary: Fagin decides to end his career in the pickpocketing field. We follow him through his tough journey on the road to being a "normal" citizen./ Main Characters: Fagin. (Based on Oliver Twist) 3) Title: Charley's Memory Box/ Summary: Charley tells us some short stories about his experiences with his friends and associates./ Main Characters: Charley, Fagin, The Artful Dodger, Nancy, Bet, and Bill Sikes. (Based on Oliver Twist) 4) Title: Diary of an Ent/ Summary: A look at the thoughts of an ent throughout the years and how he reacts to the trials and tribulations./ Main Characters: (as of now) an OC ent. (Based on LOTR) There are many other ideas in my little black book... they just aren't very far along in my imagination yet. Anyway, PLEASE let me know what you think of my ideas! Thanks! Personal: I have auburn hair (I've cut it so much in the past year or two that specifying length is generally inacurate), dark chocolate brown eyes, and ivory skin. I am a Christian. I believe in Jesus Christ, God, and the Holy Spirit. My hobbies: riding my bike (call it my "better half," knitting, crocheting, playing piano, reading (duh!), writing fan fiction, and DANCING!! I have read many books and here is a list of the memorables: Eragon, Eldest, The Hobbit, The Lord of the Rings (The Fellowship of the Ring, The Two Towers, and The Return of the King) Lord of the Flies (okay, I have to admit I listened to the author read this one on a cd recording), Great Expectations, Oliver Twist, The Pickwick Papers, Sean Astin's autobiography: There and Back Again an Actor's Tale, Tolkien a Biography, etc. (I could go on and on). Oh, and duh, I almost for got some very important books: Harry Potter (The Sorcerer's Stone, The Chamber of Secrets, The Prisoner of Azkaban, The Goblet of Fire, The Order of the Phoenix, The Half-Blood Prince, and The Deathly Hallows). Oh, MORE: Dog Friday, The Amber Cat, and Dolphin Luck by Hilary McKay (children's books, but really entertaining - of course, they are by an English author). Also, the Jennie McGrady mystery book series (I forgot most of the book names) and Morningsong by Patricia H. Rushford. OOOOO! And what about the (clean) romance Enduring Faith Series (forgot most of the book names) by Susan Feldhake. How about my favorite movies? Well, lets see... SPEED, Two Weeks Notice, While You Were Sleeping, (are you getting a theme here?) The Lake House, Miss Congeniality, You've Got Mail, (yes, I love romances) Galaxy Quest, and (duh!) The Fellowship of the Ring, The Two Towers, and The Return of the King, The Gods Must Be Crazy (seriously, this one is HILARIOUS!) The Count of Monte Cristo, and the Pirates of the Caribbean The Curse of the Black Peal (it's better than the others), Melody also known as SWALK, Oliver! (yes, I know that's a musical), Napoleon Dynamite, Help!, Star Wars Trilogy, Rainman, etc. (The Harry Potter movies are good as well, but still not a "favorite" - I have to be "in the mood".) I have probably forgotten some - oh, well. Favorite music (for a full list, see http:///sarathedudemascot or check out my Pandora profile @ http:///people/dudemascot2#): Cake, Michael Jackson, Jack Wild, O-zone, Rammstein, Babyshambles, Plain White T's, Led Zeppelin (cool for LOTR fans because some of the songs mention characters and places from the books), The Cars (just plain cool), The Beatles (they make me nostalgic - no, I am not THAT old, I am a teenager), Yes (really beautiful music!), the Alan Parsons Project, etc. I will add onto this list as I think of others. I have a sister who is writing Charles Dickens (she is particularly a fan of Fagin) fan fiction. Her screen name is Elaine Dawkins and her stories called "Diary of an Englishman" and "Guilt Saved". You better read them and leave encouraging reviews. (Her writing is really good!) I could tell you loads more (I love to talk), but I will try not to keep you. - Charlene Bates |
