A little about me...

Yikes! Can't believe it's been over 6 years since I last updated my profile! Just trying to get Return to Darkness finished now that life is treating me a bit more kindly :-) I'm not completely happy with it, but I also didn't feel right leaving it unfinished.

The past year and a half have been...well, horrible, which explains the delay in my writing. My personal life has been in chaos. To keep things short and sweet. One of my children had cancer last year and beat it, but it appears as though he is no longer in remission. To top that off, I'm in the middle of a divorce that was a long time coming, too. I'm not sure if anyone actually reads these profiles, but for those of you who do and who have followed my writing for some time or even if you're new I just wanted to throw this out there.

A bit about how I got started writing.

I used to be of those long time readers who had ideas swimming in my head, but hadn't gotten to the point where I had enough courage to actually publish something. Well, I had long admired many of the stories I found here, and after getting a story in my own head, I finally got up the nerve to write one myself and published it in May 2006. It was supposed to be a simple story, oh thirty chapters or so, but my first fan fic eventually grew to 70 chapters and I finally finished three days and one year after I published the first chapter.

But who am I? I'm thirtysomething and I feel a little out of place (is everyone here in their twenties?), which is probably why it took me so long to publish in the first place.
I'm married w/kids and my husband thinks my wiring is screwed up because I love sci-fi. He just doesn't get it.

How my obsession with Vin Diesel began: Okay, so I can't stand horror movies and I thought Pitch Black was just that. My boss lent it to me, and I didn't watch it for months, but after catching Chronicles of Riddick on HBO, I finally watched it (peeking through my fingers) and loved it. Yes, I was completely hooked on Riddick. I started doing script searches since I missed a few lines in both movies and ended up here and found I wasn't the only one who couldn't get enough of the convict.

Any other obsessions? Why, yes...David Boreanaz in the tv series Bones. There are some incredible fan fics from the tv series that are really yummy. So, if you love the show (and it's great), you love him (sigh), and hate that he and Temperance haven't hooked up, then head to that section and check out a few. However, you won't find me writing any about these two though. I'm purely a reader and besides, there's only room enough for Riddick in my head and he gets mighty testy if he has to share.
