Now about my fan fiction preferences: I read Pitch Black, Chronicles of Riddick fanfic almost exclusively, though I have read some Alien vs. Predator fic but find it all the same. I have recently branched out to reading some Bones fic too though...that show is addictive!

In my Pitch Black/CoR reading and writing I am Jack/Kyra and Riddick all the way. From the movies, it is just obvious to me that they are 'meant' to be together, corny as that sounds. Kyra is the only person or woman that they have yet introduced who is a match to Riddick in anyway and they also have so much in common. Their histories follow the same story line. The only big personality difference I see in Riddick and Kyra is that Kyra has always fought for what she has wanted, doing anything and everything possible to get it. Riddick on the other hand, has the 'hands off', 'don't fck with me and I won't fck with you' attitude. The only thing that changed that is when he realized through Carolyn's sacrifice for Imam and Jack, and then ultimately for him, that there were some people worth saving...Some things worth fighting for besides the right to be left alone. Carolyn, without realizing it, shoved him onto the path to rejoin the human race. Anyway, I think I have done a bit too much research on this subject lol.

As much as I like stories with Jack/Kyra and Riddick, I hate the stories that make one or both of them have split personalities. The 'animal' that they both talk about isn't their alternate self, it is as much a seamless part of them as anything else. Honestly, sometimes in those stories Riddick seems to be a rather slow person talking to an inner dog or something. I hate that. He is Furyan (and I have a hunch Kyra might be too), and the Furyans are a race of warriors; they have animalistic qualities like all good warriors throughout history...not split personalities. Anyway...Off my soap box.
