![]() Author has written 27 stories for Harry Potter, Chalet School, Buffy: The Vampire Slayer, Misc. Books, Merlin, Glee, Haven, Het Huis Anubis/House of Anubis, Warehouse 13, Doctor Who, Sinbad, Teen Wolf, Swallows and Amazons series, and Diana Wynne Jones. Uh, yeah, should write something here, instead of having a blank screen. I read. A lot. Almost any genre (except horror, don't understand it. And I have read everything Stephen King wrote until "Gerald's Game", and I still don't understand it) Particular favourites: Fantasy, Science Fiction ('specially classics like Asimov & Heinlein), Historical Fiction, and a genre which can be snobbily referred to as "Early-Mid 20th century Children's Literature" butyou can translate as "School Stories". Really, if it's a printed word, I'll read it (except for Horror, just don't understand it) I also watch a lot of TV, usually while reading (well, I have to keep both sides of the brain entertained!). Favourite shows: Buffy & Angel & Firefly (why did they cancel them?), Battlestar Galactica (the new series - never saw the original one), Doctor Who (both old & new), the various incarnations of Law & Order, and 2 of the 3 CSI's (not Miami - can't stand David Caruso & the blonde gun expert drives me mental) And apart from the reading & watching TV, I play softball during summer & do cross-stitch (needlwork), usually when watching TV when I'm not also reading. Well, that's me in a nutshell. I'll come back & write something else if I ever remember to... (27 Apr 2006) Update: It's been over 5 years since I last did anything here, and I've added more TV shows to my favourites. Glee - SLOC and I were a bit unsure about it to start with, but quickly got addicted to it, him more than me, I think! The newest BBC version of the Robin Hood legend, but only S1 & S2 - S3 was rubbish as they got rid of Will Scarlett. And Merlin too, except one is forced to wonder about how stupid Uther is over the whole magic-users issue. And he has a huge blind-spot when it comes to Morgana too... But my newest "guilty" pleasure is the Nickleodeon series "House of Anubis". I've found that it leaves loads of scope for writing fic, as the characters can all be summed up in one or two words. Plus I'm a sucker for awkward teen romances, and this one has loads *laugh* (28 May 2011) |
