Author has written 114 stories for Shakespeare, Harry Potter, Good Omens, Dead Poets Society, Firefly, Pirates of the Caribbean, Criminal Minds, Glee, Supernatural, and Sherlock.
So, it occurred to me today that I haven't updated my profile in ages, thus rendering it rather woefully behind in the times. This has to be brief, since I have a term paper to go finish, but hi! My name is Kassie, I'm a university student majoring in fiction writing (with additional concentrations in literature and history… and, unofficially, in fanfiction and roleplaying), and you've found the repository of my fanfiction. There's even more over on Bodas de Sangre @ Livejournal and Wig in a Box @ Insanejournal; some it may move here in the future, some of it may not, and as yet, I'm just not sure.
Some basic other stuff about me: I write slash, het, femmeslash, gen, and combinations thereof, but I'm a shameless little slasher, in my heart of hearts, so you're going to find a lot of it here. Writing is my passion and my life, so you'll find a lot of that too. I'm a little obsessed with Kurt Vonnegut and Paradise Lost. I'm bad at keeping things brief. I'm also bad at starting multi-part fics and leaving them dangling. And there are very few things I love more than unrequited love, angst, and mixing humor with my drama.
My big fandoms are:
Harry Potter: You'll find a lot of it here. Most of my fics in this fandom are from high school and I'm a little ashamed of some of them, but I'd rather have them backed up somewhere than not. My favorite character in the fandom is Barty Crouch, Jr., and I like him best with Regulus Black or Severus Snape, but there's a fair amount of other pairs in here too.
Criminal Minds: This show has quickly become one of my biggest obsessions. My favorite character is decidedly Dr. Spencer Reid, and I like him best with Derek Morgan, though Emily Prentiss and Penelope Garcia are lovely companions as well.
Glee: I didn't start out loving this show, but it grew on me once they started doing more things with Kurt Hummell… and once I learned of the glory that is Sue Sylvester. They're easily my favorites, and Kurt/Finn is my OTP. Someday, I'm going to write Principal Figgins/Howard Bamboo.
Firefly: I haven't written it in a good long while, but once you go Browncoats, there's no going back. Jayne/Simon is my unequestioned Firefly OTP, and my Simon Tam love is probably where my overall love of pretty-mouthed doctors started.
Supernatural: Saying that I didn't start out as a fan of this show would be an understatement. Mostly, I was unaware of it, until I read some stuff on ~fandom_wank and became very, very afraid. ...And then I actually watched the show and realized that we were a match made in Heaven (or Hell... possibly both). Dean/Castiel wins the prize for my OTP in this fandom, hands down, but I'm also partial to some Dean/Alastair, Sam/Ruby, Sam/Gabriel, John/Bobby, and, as explained over here in my Supernatural ships meme, many, many more. Lilith is one of my favorite characters to write on the show, so also be looking out for more fic with her in it.
Good Omens: I love the book dearly, but as with Firefly, I haven't written any in forever and a day, and I'm not sure how long it's going to stay that way.
The status of some of my multi-part fics:
The Centre Cannot Hold (Criminal Minds): My fic about a hypothetical encounter between Reid and Gideon after Gideon left in s3. I've been working on finishing this for a while, and it's still in progress. The last chapter's coming eventually, and most of it will be non-canon as far as s5 is concerned, since I started it right after s4 ended.
Desolation Row (Supernatural): An upcoming series about the adventures of Team Free Will 2.0: Lucas Barr ("Dead in the Water"), Ben Braeden, Emily Fremont (Lilith's child vessel from "No Rest For The Wicked"), Michael Frye ("Something Wicked"), Claire Novak ("The Rapture"), and Jesse Turner ("I Believe The Children Are Our Future"). ... and the occasional guest appearance by the Ghostfacers 2.0: Todd Cooper and Audrey Elmer ("Wishful Thinking"), Aidan Duran ("All Dogs Go To Heaven"), Juliet Spengler, and Missy Zeddmore.
Loverman (Supernatural): An eight-part, Lucifer-centric series: "In the beginning, Lucifer was God's most beloved archangel. This is the story of his fall — and the lovers he took with him." This is another upcoming project, and I'm not sure about the logistics of posting it here just yet, as I'll be writing it together with my best friend, LJ's ~secondplatypus. Either way, it will most likely end up here, or at least my four parts of the total eight will. For more information, see her announcement of it over here.
Shallow (Harry Potter): I had a plan written out, but I'm probably not finishing this one. It started with a bad mood and a prompt I liked, and I still love the fic, but I don't think I have it in me to finish.
Son Of A Preacherman (Supernatural AU): The continued adventures of/sequel to, "Being Good Isn't Always Easy," my Dean/Castiel civilians!university!AU, this fic is brand new and is going to be a series of moments in their romance — with some sad ones, and some happier ones to come than the first chapter. I don't have everything planned out yet, but soon to be introduced are Castiel's friends (Crowley, Gabriel, and Chuck), the Gay-Straight Alliance and its co-presidents (Bela and Jo), Pastor Novak and Dean's family (and the girlfriend who might ruin Sam's shot at Stanford), and plenty of tensions and shenanigans arising from them.
Songs of Love and Hate (Supernatural): Posted in completion.
The Tiresias Effect (Criminal Minds): This is a new one, which also started with someone else's prompt. As per their request, it explores Dr. Spencer Reid with the reading of him as genderqueer. I really love it and have it planned for four chapters, but please be warned that several elements of it may be triggering. UPDATE, 15th July 2010: I hit a bit of a stumbling block with this one, but I'm hoping to resolve it and get chapter three up soon.
Sparks and Shells (Supernatural): The post-Apocalyptic adventures of Adam Milligan as he tries to navigate life as Lucifer's kept boy, get out, and go help Dean put the world back together. Slash, Adam/Lucifer.
Zodiac (Firefly): I panicked and stopped working on this for ages and ages, but winter break is coming soon and I think I might try picking it back up again. UPDATE, 15th July 2010: I'm still not sure where this one stands.
Thanks for stopping by and reading!
On Archiving/C2ing: Go ahead, feel free, etc.
