Another year, another update. Perhaps there will be more to come. Perhaps I will even be able to finish this before the 10 year mark comes. We shall see.

Hello dear friends and readers,

I realise I have been very absent for a number of months - I was away on holidays (why I didn't update over the holiday season) and now I am completing my final year of study (why I haven't updated since). Rest assured I DO intend on finishing this story, I always have and I always will. Unfortunately, as I'm sure many of you who are writers will know, life gets the better of us sometimes and we do not have the time to update.

I am sincerely sorry if you are disappointed in me as a writer for not updating, but as soon as my life is a little less hectic I will put a considerable effort into finishing this story off, because I know I won't be satisfied until it is finished.

So please, to save yourselves the hassle of checking up on the story and hoping to find a new chapter, subscribe to the alert list and the site will notify you via email automatically.

If I am extremely lucky my schedule will calm down over the next couple of weeks and I'll be able to get something up to post-able standard and give you an update.

Thanks for all of your reviews and encouragement!

Culhilien.

Hello readers :) As those of you who review Thief would know, I love responding to reviews. I just received very thoughtful and thought provoking review but it was anonymous and I'm really sad to not have the chance to respond. So short of responding in an A/N, I'm posting my response here and addressing it to all of you.

The review is in relation to the way I handled the Aragorn/Arwen relationship. The reviewer says that in comparison to my recent chapters the way I handled it was rather abrupt on re-reading (Chapter 16), and that they feel as though the story would have been better had I not made them (Aragorn and Arwen) lovers in the first place and just had them as friends.

I'd like to thank this reader for pointing this out to me. To be honest I wrote that chapter so long ago I had forgotten the brevity with which I tackled the issue. When I started this story (all of those years ago) I did think long and hard about what I would do with Arwen; whether I would have them as friends, pretend she didn't exist or keep her and Aragorn as they are. I decided to keep them as they are and have her decide to leave for a couple of reasons; one of them was because in the film adaptation we see her leaving, and it is a vision of the future that turns her around. My other reason was because I didn't want to feel like a cop out and just not deal with the issue at all - I wanted to challenge myself to see if readers would support Aragorn in choosing my character after Arwen.

That was probably a bit ambitious for a first fanfic.

I believe now that I am a better, more experience writer (even though it is technically still my first fanfic) and had I written the entire thing now, it would probably look different, and may have handled things differently.

As it is though, I can't change it now. I considered (very briefly) actually re-writing the parts of the story concerning the three of them. Fortunately, I quickly realised that this would change the story too much. My reviewer is right, the way I handled it seems very causal and brief compared to the content that I currently post. I hope I don't ask too much by hoping you will all be able to over look this fact.

Thanks for all your support and your reading eyes!!

Hey faithful readers! I think I need to let you know that I'm currently massively busy and I won't be able to update as regularly as I have been these last few months. I am NOT abandoning my story, or my readers, but I may need your patience over the next couple of months. I hope to update for you soon!!

Hello

My current, and only, fanfic is a work in progress. If you like it I hope you're in it for the long haul... it's probably going to be a long one.

I love my readers, I love my reviewers even more. But more importantly I love this site.
