Another fascinating story, to say the least.
The history of Melia’s parents is highly engaging on its own, with the mystery of her mother contrasting well with the open nobility of her father in a brutal world that he has no choice but to accept, and Legolas’s recognition of the relative pointlessness of his post-Fellowship life is very well-written, creating an interesting motivation for the two of them to join forces even before they accept their feelings for each other.
The twist of one of the missing Istari being involved in the mystery of Melia’s mother was particularly brilliant- it’s funny how you can hear all that stuff about the ‘rods of the five wizards’ and never REALLY wonder what happened to the other two-, and Pallando and Alatar’s history was excellent, creating a compellingly tragic picture of a man who sought the impossible and fell at the last hurdle and the friend who sought to save him from himself, culminating in the moment when two lifelong quests must come to an end to preserve Middle-Earth...
Melia’s temporary departure seemed a bit sudden, but at least the final resolution of that particular thread was satisfactory, and with the potential future adversary referenced in the last chapter, I feel comfortable in saying that- even with this ‘flash-forward’ of the epilogue to show the final result- there are still some very interesting experiences waiting for the Fellowship’s remaining Middle-Earth-based members before it’s all over...

Hey :) I read this story years ago, probably in 2002 or 2003 and I just wanted to say of ALL of the fan fictions I read back in the day this was the one that stuck with me. I can only remember dribs and drabs of the other stories I read, but this one I remember the plot, the characters, the ending, everything. So I really just wanted to say thanks. Thanks for writing it. It set a standard for me before I even thought of writing my own fan fiction, and now that I have been writing for a little while (not great volumes of it mind you) I realise that this is the story that I used as a model for what a fanfic should look like. So thanks :)

Awesome! Beautifully written, a lot better than most authors these days. I love Melia's character, and I'm not usually one for the main girl who tries to act tough and hardcore, but Melia is kickass. Love Legolas xx. Any chance you could write another? Let me know ASAP

Normally I'm a lazy bugger and don't review but this story is so amazing I just had to. Your writing style and your way of the telling the story made me feel as if this could have truly happened in the middle earth verse. Melia wasn't marysueish at all and their relationship was really believable, not overdone. I hoped throught the story that Melia would turn out to be immortal after all, so it was really nice in the end when Legolas was reuinted with her reborn soul. This was simply an amazing story!

I like the relationship between Legolas and Melia; it's realistic and isn't growing too fast, which is good - I don't like it when characters fall in love before they even talk to each other -.-

This has always been one of my favorite stories, hands down. I think this is perhaps the third time I've read it (I always settle down and read it when a long vacation comes along) and it never ceases to touch my heart. I realized that I've never reviewed before-even though it's one of my favorites and you're one of my favorite authors-so I do apologize for the late review. Thanks again for writing such a beautiful love story. You've told the story of Melia and Legolas in such a lovely fashion. Bravo.

Anyways, I thought it was nearly impossible to have a believable female OC that falls in love with Legolas but You have proven me wrong. I love Melia's character and her and Legolas's banter. But most of all, you have written real feeling. I am envious.

Well I just finished this story finally. I really had fun reading it. It was so exciting, I dare say more than the sister story. There was some really good humor to it as well. I really enjoyed the banter between Legolas and Melia and found their relationship to be quite interesting. I really liked Pallando. It was really cool to read the wizard fight and about Ninuie as well. The entire story was just so well written and strong. You put so much energy, intellgience, and love into your stories. As I said before, I am really impressed with your talent and skill. You have my vote for one of the best authors. You absolutely better than me in every writing way. They only errors I could find were the occasional typo, and a bit of a lack of commas where they were needed. Otherwise, just... wow. Brilliant. I never thought that anyone could write a good Legolas romance, let alone great, which is what this is.

Seriously, I mean, I'm very impressed. There were hardly any overly mushy parts. You can write romance. You can write frickin realistic romance (hard considering it's between an elf and a mortal, eh? :-P), and I can't. Therefore, you are cool.
