![]() Author has written 7 stories for Transformers/Beast Wars. Welcome, welcome to my insanity. I am Sincere Nonsense (Nonnie, for short :P) and this is my story: Many years ago, I did not think fanfiction was a good thing. In fact, I thought of it as some sort of blight on the system. Something weak people did when they didn’t have what it took to be real writers—when they couldn’t scrape together the creativity to come up with their own stuff. Through high school, I wrote a lot of my own stuff. I loved writing. I loved building worlds and stories and watching my characters suffer and fight and overcome. I loved reading as well, but I was kind of a fiction snob if you will. There were many kinds of stories that I deemed beneath my notice. And then I went to college. College is great. It has a way of changing your mind about things. My second year in college, I became very good friends with one of my roommates. She was also a writer. We writers tend to be good friends with each other, because everyone else thinks we’re all crazy... which we are. My happiness at discovering I was living with another writer was somewhat dampened though by the fact that she mostly just liked to write… Transformers Fanfiction. The only thing I knew about Transformers was that it had something to do with robots, and that my parents thought the movies were really stupid. I wasn't particularly interested in hearing more about it. But, when you live with someone who really really really wants to tell you about something, you’re going to hear about it eventually. And it only took about a month before she found a good opportunity. I didn’t have to listen to her for very long before I realized that this was my favorite kind of fandom. An enormous cast of quirky characters, a galaxy-wide conflict that spanned millions of years, and lots of potential for both tragedy and silliness. And so I watched some things, and read some things, and quite enjoyed them. But while I was much more open to reading fan fiction, I was determined that I wasn’t going to write any. Never. Not happening. And then I had an idea. Notes: 1. I will try to update every week. I actually have a significant amount of this nonsense written so far and I just need to edit things before I put them up, so I hope to be pretty reliable. 2. My stories will be as consistent as possible with Transformers Prime (just TFP itself, though, not Exodus or anything else from the aligned universe). Other than that I pick and choose, and reserve the right to borrow characters, concepts, and plot points from all other continuities as I please. 3. There will be no slash, and I will try to keep everything relatively clean. 4. That said, there WILL be some violence, especially in later stories. There is a war, after all. There will also be a few stories and chapters that are darker and more disturbing. I'll try to warn you if I think people might feel uncomfortable reading anything in the chapter, or story. Main Sequence Stories: Many Voices: Focuses on Soundwave, and his eventual decision to join the Decepticons. This is the first story in my main sequence and is probably the first thing you should read. (Yes, there will be more stories. I have this problem where I can't skip things, so I may end up writing the entire war.) Revolution: Second story in the main sequence. This one focuses on Orion Pax and his journey to become Optimus Prime. Also covers the beginning of the Great Cybertronian War. Side Stories: Spare Parts: This is more like a collection of deleted scenes than a story. Some of the chapters will stand alone, but the majority of them probably won't make much sense unless you read them alongside the main story. Split: This is my origin story for Sideswipe and Sunstreaker. It stands alone, so it ought to make sense whether or not you've read any of my other stuff. Quantum: A story about Jazz being an idiot and making a mess of his life. Takes place chronologically during the middle part of Many Voices, and eventually converges back with the main story line. Stands alone fairly well, though I guess it has some minor spoilers for the early chapters of Many Voices. By Might: Megatron's origin story. Takes place during the middle part of Many Voices. Stands alone, but will probably have more emotional impact if you've read Many Voices first (at least through chapter 69). All Shadows: A side story about Wheeljack and what happened to him during chapters 69-76 of Many Voices while he was missing. This one's kind of dark and unpleasant sometimes. Fair warning. |
