Author has written 5 stories for Phantom of the Opera, and Love Never Dies. Hello! I've been haunting this site for quite some time now. Through the course of my haunt I've had the vast pleasure of reading some brilliant and very well written fan fictions. Beautiful, poignant stories that mananged to retain the magic that captivated me in the first place. I thank all the astounding authors on this site who have thrilled me with their genius for storytelling. Without you all of you, my poor little muse would never have come out of hiding and I never would have had the inspiration or the drive to create my own fan-fic. Thank you all, so much! I'm giving my story all that I have to give and I can only hope that it will reach the standards which so many of you have set before me. Now . . . I did say that I've been haunting this site, but perhaps haunting isn't the right term to use. For if I read a story, I leave reviews. If I happen to come across a story I did not enjoy, and there's nothing constructive that I feel I can contribute, I simply do not leave a review. I abhor reviews that don't offer a single drop of helpful criticism to the author. This wonderful site is supposed to be a place for people to have fun with their writing, yet above all else, it is meant to serve as a learning experience; a place for people to expand upon their writing abilities. It is NOT meant to serve as a place where people frequent to have their stories viciously ridiculed for unjust reasons. What benefit could a writer receive from a nasty flame, I ask you? I don't believe that a a negative review will impart in them the ambition to improve their writing skills, or anything positive at all. All it serves to do is crush the writer’s self esteem. And lets face it . . . some people simply have a natural ability when it comes to writing. There are so many of you here on FF who have the talent and ability to be published. Some individuals are very good writers, but unfortunately lack the breathtaking essence others instinctively have. But this is not a flaw to be burned over! Okay, so if you've made it this far, I'm sure you want to know a little about me. Here goes nothing. . . . Name: Shannon Age: 30 Location: Maine Occupation: I'm a house wife in training (engaged). I'm being completely honest when tell you all that I LOVE my job. I love cleaning (you probably all just thought, "What?" But it's true!) and cooking (which I've mastered rather well, if I do say so myself), but most of all, I love being there for Jason (my other half) when he comes home from a vey long, and back-breaking, day at work. Plus, I have ample time for writing, which is always a good thing! Past Obsessions: Titanic (Yes, I was one of those teeny-boppers who was Titanic and Leo crazed.), Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel, Roswell and even Dawson's Creek for a while. Current Obsession: The Phantom of the Opera, and Twilight, both in all it's many glorious forms. I have become as hooked to POTO and Twilight as I was to Titanic. Trust me when I tell you, that statement speaks volumes! Hobbies: Reading, writing, singing, watching the tube, figure skating, camping, crocheting, sewing, cooking (Okay, so cooking is something I have to do, but I love making new things and experimenting, so I classify it as a hobby) and chatting with family and friends. That pretty much sums up my hobbies and interests. What I love: Curling up on the couch with a great book. Sleeping in with my sweetie. Seeing a fantastic movie for the first time and chattering on and on about it on the way home. Being a shoulder to cry on for those that I love who are in need. Making people smile and laugh, and helping them to forget for a moment all the hardships they might be going through; if you can do that, the feeling is priceless. Hearing a song on the radio that I haven't heard in forever, yet still being able to sing along. Writing stories late into the night with a good cup of tea or hot chocolate. The feeling I get when I know I've written something I can be proud of; that too, is priceless. Discovering a wonderful fan fiction that stays with me long after I've read it. And last but not least . . . my life. |
